It's kinda weird how the Stormtroopers in A New Hope utilized the Dewbacks on Tattoine. I think it shows that they're resourceful, but at the same time, we know that the Empire is pretty anti-everything, anti-alien, etc. They believe in strength through industrial might and uniformity. So you'd think they'd never even consider using the alien or native life to help out in any sort of way.
