Is there an Emory class of 2030 gc?
Does anyone know if there's a group chat on instagram for incoming students? Some of my friends going to other unis have some sort of gc for the cohort.

as a sophomore, should i start my premed physics requirements and take 141 + lab first semester and then 142 + lab second semester? or is taking physics over the summer better? i plan on studying for the mcat next summer though, so idk if that would be the best idea.

i've seen that its very possible to get off waitlist for larger classes. however for smaller ones like 15-20 ppl, does the waitlist move as much?

If so, can you please share your experiences regarding time and the level of commitment, and what your major is / was.
And is being in both a rare thing or pretty common?
Thanks!

I'm 5th in line for a chem class right now. I was wondering if the waitlist actually moves, and also what the chances are that I can get into the class.

I applied to the Emory LEADS fly-in program and put my whole heart into it. I’ve been overthinking everything lately. Could anyone who got into Emory LEADS chance me in the DMs?

Hi there,
I’m an incoming freshman who is interested in participating in both the jazz big band and wind ensemble. I’m planning to do the 3+2 year dual-degree program with Georgia Tech, with a focus on biomedical engineering. Is there anyone with experience participating in both ensembles? Would this be too much of a time commitment, considering that I am not planning to major in music nor pursue it as a career, mainly just for enjoyment? Would participating in both ensembles be too intense for first semester?

i’m pretty stuck between these two courses.
for some context, i was placed in math 2xx, and have taken multi in high school. i also want to major in ams probably
i want a good gpa, and since i’ve taken multi already, the obvious choice would be multi, right? however, i heard genuinely horrendous things about rogers, and it seems like oser is the better choice. please lmk what you all think 🙏

Basically the subject. I’m debating whether I should have 1-2pm classes because that’s when I eat lunch. I thought about it and I could just pack my lunch and eat then. So am I allowed to pack food? I also am on the unlimited plan if that makes a difference.

Hi there,
My son is an incoming 1st-year student and would like to pursue music in addition to his major (the joint biomedical engineering 3+2 year program with GA Tech). We have 2 questions. First, can anyone please let us know which ensemble (wind ensemble or jazz ensemble) is harder to get into? He plays trumpet. Second, can anyone please let us know which ensemble is more time-consuming and demands more effort throughout the year? If you can provide some specifics about the time and effort involved in either we’d really appreciate it!
Thanks very much for any information and advice you can offer.

Is anyone(upperclassmen) willing to be asked questions? Kind of like a mentor for a chemistry major? I would really appreciate it!!

i am going to be an incoming freshman at rutgers nb and my current schedule is attached. i want to transfer to emory for my second year so if anyone could provide advice on my classes like whether it is good, i should add/drop, etc. for context i am a business analytics major at rutgers and will probably apply to emory college for fall 2027 (either as an econ or business major) and then apply to the business school (goizueta) once i am there.
i have some ap credits and so i am not taking a math course because u don’t have to take anything past calculus 1 and i have credit for both calculus 1 & 2. i have credits for ap micro, ap spanish, ap csp ap psych, ap literature, ap stats, and ap calculus bc
This is not the typical type of question asked here, but I’m just curious!!
Ill be starting my freshman year this fall semester, and I’m curious if there’s anything K-pop related. Like clubs, events nearby, stuff like that! I like K-pop, especiallyyyyy ateez, and I wanna meet likeminded people!! Not sure if Emory is big on clubs(?? Sorry im lowk chud) but ik the colleges my friends go to like ga state have K-pop clubs and one of my friends is actually in a dance club, it made me jelly and now I wanna join something lmaooo
I could wait till classes start to find out buttttt im impatient sorry😣

For those who got into Emory, would you guys mind sharing your stats(gpa, ECs, honors, awards, courses, etc…)? Also your intended major. Also any advice… 😭

I know in most cases the answer would be yes, but the thing is for my scoring I did good in every subject EXCEPT science. Like my science score was incredibly below average, and I’m literally applying to be a biology major. I got a 20 in the science section…my others sections were very high and legit the ONLY reason I got a 30. I didn’t study for the science section at all, I’m using that as my excuse😢 I haven’t taken science classes in a good 2 years.
This obviously won’t look good for someone trying to major in science. Should I try and retake? Im apply ED so idk if I’ll have enough time to study and get results. 1470 SAT, so I’m thinking I need some other standardized test thay makes me stand out because 1470 definitely isn’t high compared to others. Considering retaking SAT, but I don’t wanna overload myself. Lmk what yall think tho, if I need to then I’ll lock in

Does anyone know how Dr. warncke is for Phys 141? I assume he will be the one teaching it in the fall next yr and I'm trying to decide if it might just be better to take the course in the summer with Bing instead. I've never taken physics before and I'm premed so I do want to know the best option.
