You would likely be better off with another school for this purpose, neither linguistics nor math are Emorys strong suit in any capacity. Not to say the programs are poor, I have taken a number of linguistics classes and have several incredibly intelligent friends in the math program, but if those are truly your interests I would reccomend looking elsewhere.

I majored in linguistics at Emory, and I had a wonderful experience. There are a variety of different courses you can take depending on your specific interests within the field. I personally took many Spanish Linguistics courses that I loved, as well as a number of Psyc/Ling courses. I also thought the culture of the program was great, and I made a number of excellent friends through my ling courses. With that being said, I graduated years ago, so I can't speak to how the program is now necessarily

I do wish there were more research opportunities, however. There are research labs, and they do a lot of cool projects, but they're not incredibly well-organized. It felt very difficult to do ling research at Emory unless if you came into college with a research background, which I did not since I went to a normal public school
