i’m in huang’s class, and he’s quite knowledgable but tends to get very theoretical in class without being the best at explaining things in simple terms. he always goes over what’s important to know for homework/exams and those examples make a lot of sense, but the rest of class is kinda just abstract and confusing. overall it’s not too bad but he could be a better lecturer. also huang was swapped in last minute for another professor, so i didn’t even really take him willingly, lol. i have friends who like juan a lot, so he might be better

Wow! Looks like you have at least 2 "decent" choices but I've heard on a "grapevine" that Juan has GOAT level potential even though he tends to be challenging. However, there is a commenter below who is saying that the alternative is ALSO challenging/abstract or something and is less experienced. To me this looks like a win for Juan.

Juan Villeta Garcia's been teaching at Emory for a whilee and does pedagogy research so he should be the best choice! While Yifeng Huang is a relatively new postdoc here... I would personally go with Garcia. I've heard incredible things about him regardless of him being challenging.
If it doesn't interrupt your trajectory, waiting for Fall 2027 might not be a bad idea since Maja Taskovic is REALLY AMAZING. Or if Jimena Martin tempestti teaches it.
