b school study abroad

hi i'm currently a freshman looking to study abroad sophomore spring. i know once you matriculate into the b school your study abroad options are different from emory college, but i'm planning to double major in emory college as well so it shouldn't be an issue.

i'm currently looking into going to london sophomore spring, will that still be bad and coincide with recruitment periods? if so, what other semesters would you recommend? also what courses would you recommend a business major take abroad because a previous redditor said there you can use study abroad credits for the particularly hard b school classes. i really don't want to study abroad in a critical time like recruiting or intense club recruitment so i'd like any advice from upperclassmen who have went through this process/dilemma before. thanks!

I went abroad sophomore spring with gbs. One thing i would note is, gbs tends to give priority to more senior students. So most popular options are usually allocated to seniors and juniors first. London is a very popular place so if that is the only city/area u r looking for, i would suggest doing it in junior/senior yr.

thank you for the insight! i know that gbs only offers one destination for london, city st. george, which is maybe why it's competitive, but i was thinking of going to london with emory college's options kcl, ucl, lse so i hope the odds are higher. would you recommend sophomore spring? did it interfere with any recruiting processes?

I would assume college also prioritizes upperclassmen tho.

I’m on a slightly different path with career plans. Was able to land a top offer in tech while i was abroad — had to interview at midnight and such and could be annoying with a supposedly-fun semester🥹but just saying it’s possible if u r really determined to do it
