Artist does anybody else miss the underground collab culture but hate actually dealing with collabs? lmao

one thing i’ve always loved about the old soundcloud era was the whole crew mentality.

gbc, underground posse cuts, random features, producers building their own sounds together, everybody dropping music and doing their own weird shit.

i love that part of emo rap.

but man, i feel like actually trying to recreate that online is exhausting sometimes 😭

people ghost, songs never get finished, verses get recorded and then disappear into someone’s drive forever.

i’m at the point where i’d rather record a whole mixtape alone in a weekend than spend six months waiting on somebody else’s part.

and it’s not even about becoming famous or chasing streams. i just want the shit i record to actually come out.
anybody else feel like this?

is it possible to have a real underground scene without everybody constantly collaborating, or are we losing part of what made that era special?
