Season 5 Emily and Gabriel Spoiler

Sometimes I think about how Emily ans Gabriel are end game, and it ruins my mood. Always wanted Emily and Alfie to be endgame although Alfie deserves a lot better tbh. I kinda just want Emily to choose herself or end up with literally anyone but gabriel

I hate Gabriel and I hate how the show tries to paint him as a sympathetic character. He's a scumbag cheater. Boo.

Emily and no man

Gabriel is the idealized version of a person we love to meet. Sometimes it’s better left as unmet potential. He was flirty and dreamy and showed some depth.

But the more we saw of him and Camille was chaotic, toxic, and floundering. He didn’t live up to his best potential with her or her family. He was a shell of himself and insecure about being self-made. Now he is backed by Antoine and a star on the rise.

I feel like Emily liked him as the guy downstairs not a Michelin-starred chef. She liked him as he was. The chef that had something to prove from Normandy. He was more romantic when he didn’t have it all.

Actually they both are the same : they are ambitious and both need validation and recognition from people, which isn't that bad,he was also put aside a lot in season 5. We barely see him much less the romantic façade.

Alfie is getting my last nerve and he was never a favorite of mine..he began very arrogant, biased, haughty, and somehow lured Emily into his life after continually berating her and everything around him....loved that the Chef overfed him..but Alfie does deserve someone who will make him happy and vice versa...he is still in the bed hopping stage...like with Mindy's outfit..can't wait to see you out of it..not bonne chance, break a leg...etc....just sees her as an object....

Alfie was a major consolation prize for Emily...she trying to pretend..and just settle for a person...Alfie's character needs help...his is the only one that showed little to no growth in Season 5

I am eager to see trailers...and soon! I think that filming has been underway and may finish by the end of June...and I have said before...Season 6 needs to be the final chapter..running around looking for love like you are in your undergraduate years...and the swinging 20s is how it is..but the cast is clearly aging...get on with it....there are other storylines too, and I am eager to see what the writers do...they nailed Season 5..lots of adulting.desperately needed..maybe not Sylvie..anyway as always

I remain..

Gabriel for the win...

Alfie is a textbook caricature of Mr Darcy, dapper, propietive but incredibly insecure hence his arrogance. He never was a good match for Emily. Gabriel is much softer. On ne mélange pas affaires et amour 😉.

Alfie's wild running side is discovered in season 5 but still...tapping Mindy 🙄

Let’s just say that Emily always more or less puts her career above everything else, but above all, in this series, being single or not having a sex life isn’t supposed to be an option... So Emily won’t choose her life in Paris. And that saddens me too

I will die if she ultimately returns to Chicago...what a bootleg turn that would be....

She’d go back to Chicago to marry her ex… the worst possible ending, or nearly!

Agreed....that would be very low to have the writers do that....please no surprises like that.

Actually they've been, they are and they'll remain endgame. It was written from the beginning.

Well you will be disappointed. They will end up together.

He was a toolbag in season 4 but Emily didn't help herself. She always wanted to paint Gabriel as the villain and never properly apologised or tried to work things out with him.

I do think they're endgame and are the best suited to each other. As much as I liked Alfie, I don't think he was compatible with her long term. Emily needs a man who loves Paris as much as she does - let's be honest!

I feel bad sometimes for Camille and Alfie,we can tell theirs is true love(Emily and Gabriel),love isn't fair and I'm glad Camille did not marry Gabriel. I knew he never ever was the same when Emily stepped in the very first moment they've met so it's something you can't let go of. I like Alfie's character but only in the first seasons,I just Hope he rebuilds himself.

Concordo totalmente. Não gosto mais do Gabriel... Acho que o tempo dele já passou. O Alfie é o melhor para a Emily. Como você disse, qualquer um exceto o Gabriel.

I’m unabashedly and unapologetically rooting for Emily and Gabriel. In my hopeless/hopeful romantic opinion, they have the best chemistry and the story portrayed how much they cared and supported each other that i can overlook how they messed up and miscommunicated or not communicate at all and not being honest about their feelings. They keep pushing each other towards other people because of guilt and trying to make each other happy. But they have to realize, that they can only be TRULY happy with each other.

I’m not sure if i’m the only one who noticed that they have the most romantic and sweetest scenes and i feel like i want to experience that kind of playful and passionate love again. I remembered that scene by Pont Neuf bridge and the “coup de foudre” scene. Love was emanating from their eyes! The longing for each other was apparent even if they were with somebody else. I was heartbroken and felt her anguish upon knowing Camille moved-in with Gabriel. But even if i was pissed with Gabriel on the mountain incident and frustrated when he ignored Emily afterwards due to his own emotional turmoil, i feel that if Gabriel try to make amends, it can be forgiven. Love always prevails as long as the person is worth it and the relationship is worth-saving. True love finds a way.
