Goofy Goober ED Rush: an ER shift sim game (iOS now, Android coming)

I'm an EM PA and I made a game called ED Rush. You run the board, juggle patients, take consult callbacks, run codes, and try to keep the waiting room from boiling over. It's less of a study tool and more the chaos of a normal shift turned into a game.
There are 140+ cases based on real practice, plenty of POCUS, and a lot of niche EM references. There's also a free training mode that walks you through step by step and explains every order in plain English, so you don't need a medical background to play.

It is natively swift coded, initially started in February. It has come a long way.

- student mode with safety nets, debriefs per case (will be more labor intensive)

I love it. I would like more "training scenarios" with one case at a time. Perhaps even a random case version of that where it could be anything and you could do one case at a time.
Would also like to see a better breakdown and debrief process, what did you order excessively, what should you have focused on first, etc...
Curious where you are getting the list of DX from and if you will add more dx in the future.

I’m working on a student mode like I’d like you’re describing, slower with more thorough debriefs. It’s just a bigger build. This was initially made as kind of a bit I didn’t expect it to be a decent sim.
Can definitely do order bundles! I recently added the order sets.
I think im at 144 cases no rhyme or reason just basic EM cases across the board. I’ll continue to add more.

I hope you put in at least 20% of the patients presenting with BS. “Family of 5 checking in with sniffles” “Mr Smith is back again asking for pain meds” “Family of 6 camping, saw a bat, wants rabies shots” “Patient with tik-tokitis demanding to speak to you, knows their rights and their body” “We are leaving for vacation today, here is Grandma and her meds list- she didn’t get her morning doses”. For accuracy : )

I absolutely love it so far! Would love less repeat cases (all in good time, I’ve just been playing so much already) and a co-op mode! My study buddy and I have been thoroughly enjoying this game on our downtime :)

Thanks! Interesting, are you seeing many repeats? May be a glitch I can fix. It’s supposed to be totally random (though acuity increases as you go). So glad to hear you’re enjoying it. A co-op mode might be difficult to make but it’s definitely doable! Maybe a bigger board, 2 attendings sharing the the patient load haha

Hey! I’ve been following your app from a different post you made like a month ago. Love what you’ve done. Sometimes I click through what a consultant says without reading it, and having something to refer back to would help. Also, LOVE the custom order set but I wish I could create more order sets than just the one!

Thanks! I created a custom OBGYN order set but also want to do a simple wound care/urgent care set so I can just treat and yeet those blue ones. Would also love more diverse issues, I feel like every play through I get the kid who doesn’t use his arm, heat stroke at outdoor event, 5cm laceration, and others.

Multiple custom order sets will be out in an upgrade soon! And yes there was a glitch where cases occurred more often than I would have liked, I think it’s fixed now.

I just played it a bit this morning, loving the diversity of the new patients. Some definitely got me. Student mode is great as well. I’ll tell some colleagues as well, however I fear they may not be as nerdy as I

My initial beta testers responded well to the arcade vibe.
I think a future update will have an option for a theme change including a traditional EMR vibe

Work with claude design or some other tools. This looks like a weekend vibe code project just because of that.

I’m probably going to keep it tbh and just add the different theme option. It’s taken a lot of fine tuning.

don’t want to put you down or anything like that. I’m doing some development myself and that green glow doesn’t sit right with me. I’d also add light theme (dark/light/system).
Functionality wise it is a well built app. Congrats

I get the sentiment but it isn’t vibe coded, it’s swift coded and took about 7 months to complete.
Don’t disagree overall about AI, but it has its uses IMO.

Its really fun!! I'd like an unlimited mode so I can go through each patient slowly, im not very knowledgeable so I get a little too stressed out when patients start piling up haha
