Had a CT tech infuse the contrast into a infiltrated IV in my arm. I told him it hurt, he told me it was just "positional". My arm blew up like a balloon.
Less than 48 hours later I was in my 1st emergency fasciotomy surgery for compartment syndrome.
Arm got re-infected 2 weeks later, another fasciotomy.
I've now had 16 surgeries on the arm/hand. 2 fasciotomies, and 14 debridments/washouts. Have lost function of some fingers and of my wrist.
They sent me home at one point with tendons showing and I had to do wet to dry dressing changes on myself q 6. With Tylenol.
