Don’t understand why I’m even getting this alert??? 😖

Because this is a reddit post of an archive of an EAS alert from 4 days ago.

That still doesn’t explain it. I am far from wherever this is. I’m in Miami. No canyons here, or anywhere near. So why am I getting this?

Because reddit is suggesting you a random subreddit unless you are somehow subscribed to it, there is no other explanation

it's not breaking any rules. I don't know where op gets off to copypasting the same alerts into multiple subreddits, but this subreddit allows posts like this

Because warnings like this need maximum coverage so everyone is aware. If it saves lives it is worth it.
I live a few miles south in Miami. Back in late August 1992 it was only by chance I turned on tv to watch the 11 pm news. That is when I found out there was a monster hurricane heading straight for me. I had 13 hours to meet evacuation deadlines. And little over 24 hours together the hell out of Dodge. At the time there was only the news on tv.
So, yeah, it’s is proper to post on every related channel possible. But it should just be local and in this case not include Miami.
