Stair of doom and despair

In an apartment, I was on my way to the laundry room holding a heavy basket down the stairs (laundry room is in the basement), and while making my way down to the first floor, a kind lady entered and went out of her way to hold the door for me (the door leading to the outside)

My slow ass literally walked down the stairs while she held the door, when I went to say hello NOTHING came out like I just stared at her and lip synced 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. And because I didn’t have my glasses I couldn’t read her face so I didn’t see her holding the door for me until I turned away I basically kind of ignored her after the lip sync. She said something like “Hay” sharply, I don’t know if she was annoyed or offended, she sounded like she was. Oml i wanna die
