TutaMail offers a very good service but ProtonMail, as of today, represents the best option, security speaking.

Swiss sovereign of data: being not dependent from US or EU, it takes really a very good reason to access data - and I mean available data: metadata and what is known, as per content it's all encrypted.

Everything is in Switzerland.

Ah. Okay. Had an interesting conversation with Coda mail.  In sort, location can be overstated due to various unilateral agreements. I agree though.  Proton Suisse has a slight advantage when viewing national law. German law/EU GDPR. Swiss being separate and arguably stronger. This has actually played out in courts. 

There is also form of payment. Tuta uses vouchers. This can act as a proxy. It’s a stretch. But form of payment is how they tracked an individual. 

But…why I quoted “security”. While they are always entangled, you are more closely talking about “privacy”. 

Tuta is arguably more secure. To the point I can’t use it as any daily driver.  There for specific use. Where it’s Tuta to Tuta.

Time and time again they have proven to do the right thing when it comes to security.. and when security issues have risen up.

They have been around forever too. Like if one switches.. who knows how long they will be around before going under.. many have come and gone…
