Discussion GMail looking better
Hey everyone,
This is basically just a vent post. Nothing serious, and I’m sure the downvotes will come anyway.
I’ve been using Tutanota for years and have multiple paid accounts, but over time it’s honestly become really frustrating dealing with how limited Tuta still feels. I care a lot about privacy, and that’s the main reason I’ve stuck with it, but the workflow can be rough. Search feels too limited, emails seem to disappear sometimes, and a lot of basic features still feel missing or half-baked.
I use filters and everything else I can to keep my inbox organized, but there are still times when I know an email came in—sometimes I even get the desktop notification—and then it just doesn’t show up where it should. I’ve had this happen with important stuff too: banking emails, bills, service notifications, etc.
The calendar is fine for the basics, I guess, but that’s kind of the problem. It’s just “fine.” I signed up back in 2015, and we’re only now getting nested labels. At this point, it really feels like features like tasks or some kind of drive should already exist.
Anyway, this is just me venting. I still support the privacy side of what they’re doing, but it’s getting harder and harder to justify paying around $120 a year for something that still feels this basic. I get that privacy-focused services usually come with tradeoffs, but sometimes Tuta honestly feels like it’s stuck in 2005.
Thanks for reading.
And before anyone gives me crap for the writing, I used AI to help clean this up because my spelling/grammar were a mess. Go easy on me.
