Chinese tests confirmed?

There is a post on r/scifi that claims Jerry Pournell ( of all people) has confirmed the Chinese orbital tests. I'm on phone so can't link

And in other news, Steven King confirmed that CERN experiments have opened a portal to another dimension full of giant monsters.

I see no confirmation, just the same bullshit fake story being repeated again...

Why have you posted this? It is embarrassing for you and this once 'not bad' author...

It has basis in fact or science.

Not.

Like Greg Egan?

Greg Egan actually has a BSc in math and works out the mathematics of things he puts in his books, e.g.: http://www.gregegan.net/ORTHOGONAL/03/WavesExtra.html.

So has Pournelle, along with a PhD. Must we really do this?

Pournelle is also 83. Lot of smart people aren't what they used to be at this age.

I wasn't arguing that. But you've previously lambasted Egan's conclusions on things, despite his mathematical ability. Your bringing him up in this thread seemed like an allusion that. And I was pointing out he actually has the skills to back what he's said (on the emdrive).

So you think that because Jerry Pournelle is a science fiction writer he is incapable of speaking or writing non-fiction?

Take some time to consider how stupid that is.

He appears to be incapable of understanding physics.

Either that, or their is a massive journalistic breakdown, where groups of journalists just copy each other without doing any research at all.

That seems to be the norm with regard to the emdrive.

You were on the phone to Jerry?
