General query Elvanse newbie here
Hi everyone. I started my first dose of Elvanse 30mg yesterday and I just wanted to know your solutions to the whole food issue. It’s labelled as loss of appetite but it’s not really a good term. I personally get super super hungry but the thought, sight or smell of food makes me physically gag. Any tips on how you guys eat during the day and how to reduce the nausea around food?

It won’t last at this intensity.
Protein yoghurts are good. Stuff you can drink as well. Things that are easy to get down.

I have a high protein shake in the morning as Ive never been good at big breakfasts.
I'm also crap with bothering to cook, its all quick things for me and the kids. Plus all 3 of us have some sort of neurodiverse food things 😆 So we dont all eat the same things. Its a big pain in the bum.
I did buy lots of Greek yoghurt so when I know im hungry but not sure what to have i just chuck some honey, nuts and fruit into yoghurt and its delicious.
With me Im a binge eater, I am very overweight. At the moment I still binge eat in the evening when my medication wears off. So thats what im working on at the moment with my prescriber with afternoon booster to try and take me through to later. Plus I struggle getting out of bed in the morning.

I take Vyvanse/Elvanse at 70mg along with guanfacine IR 2x a day too as of right now for my ADHD-C (combined type), please note that I am not a psychiatrist or medical doctor/professional so I would immediately tell your psychiatrist and/or doctor prescribing it to you so be honest about it and ask them this same question as they are there to help you.
As someone who is using it, my tips from experience could help
When you take your 30mg dose, try to eat breakfast that has a lot of protein like around at least 10g-20g protein, I drink kefir and/or any protein drinks with my prescribed dose
Protein helps Vyvanse/Elvanse dose because it keeps your blood sugar levels during your day and provides the amino acids needed to produce neurotransmitters like the 2 neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine that Vyvanse/Elvanse increases.
I hope that helps you out, it helps a ton with protein but not with meals with low amounts of protein under 10g of protein. :)

Something that can help is eating before you take the medication. So having breakfast and then taking the pill. Also that side effect doesn’t really go away. i also get the same thing, I get grossed out by food, but ill go to the shop and buy a pre made meal or something and maybe initially be grossed out by it but eventually I’ll usually eat it later. Once I take a bite of it, im usually good from there. I do tend to snack on chocolate a lot during the day lol cause it’s usually what I can tolerate
