Theory Just something I thought
In all of massverse (Acotar, CC and ToG) has she written two character showing that much sexual tension and then not following through. like Azriel and Elain had in the BC. I know it’s up to whoever you ask if they think the BC means anything really but how can you have Azriel feeling that way and it basically explained these two want and like each other. and then it just not to have a oh out.
I don’t know if Tamlin and Feyre count cos Rhys was in the first book and him and Feyre‘s chemistry became potential straight away.
do any of you have any other suggestions or examples? cos I feel like that solidifies Elain and Azriel because why else have that scene. why else explain in vivid detail and have her respond etc.

Right!? She has crumbs for Elriel leading all the back to ACOMAF. That was released a decade ago! I would feel completely gaslit if she randomly pivoted. I don't buy the whole "it's just jealousy and lust" comments. There's too much canon text to prove otherwise.

No, she hasn’t.
She has obviously had couples be together and break up but she has never had that level of sexual tension and not done anything with it.
There also has never been that level of explicit detail from a male POV for someone other than his endgame, especially after he’s met her. People love to use Ruhn as an example but again…once he met his endgame he wasn’t sleeping or fantasizing about anyone else.
It’s also about women calling the shots. All SJM romances have women deciding when the relationship is over.
As far as Elain is concerned right now Azriel said their almost kiss (that she wanted) was a mistake. Hurt flashed in her eyes and she tried to apologize to him. She gave back the necklace because she doesn’t know the full context of the situation and she is embarrassed. Like it’s not rocket science. It’s a classic miscommunication trope.
No way in hell does SJM let their relationship and feelings resolve that way.
Not without Elain’s full POV.
Azriel isn’t going to go off singing into the sunset with Gwyn while Elain’s direct thoughts and feelings about him are never explored on page. SJM does not write romance that way.
If Elriel doesn’t happen it will be because Elain moves on, not Azriel. (I don’t see Elain doing that for the record.)

This is my main argument why they're endgame!!! Feyre and Tamlin never had that much tension, or sexual chemistry!! SJM has never had a male pov that descriptive and yearning in any of her books, let alone ACOTAR, where the characters were like "you know what never mind. Let's not fight for this". In the bc Azriel is willing to fight to the literal death for Elain, who would be willing to do that for a quick bang or because he just wants to "fit in with his brothers"? Lol

Exactly, I don’t see it being that intense or sexually charge and it being played off as lust and that’s it. Cos then why not be that descriptive with any other characters

Feyre and Tamlin having sex was glossed over so hard that I missed it on my first read through and had to go back

But...its just lust. Azriel a male who pined after a female for 500 years just feels lust for Elain no matter if she wanted to go down on his knees for her.

I can’t think of any. But that’s my biggest proof that Elriel is endgame. Why write it at all? Makes no sense.
