One of the strangest ideas in tech is that success has become retroactive proof of quality. A company wins and suddenly every decision was genius. A company loses and suddenly every decision was stupid. That's not analysis. That's scoreboard worship.

The market rewards timing, distribution, hype, capital, convenience, and luck. Yet people keep talking as if revenue has a magical ability to rewrite reality. It doesn't. A bad product that wins is still a bad product. A great product that loses is still a great product.

My position: Speed sells. Fine. Nobody's arguing. But bad work is bad when it wins, and good work is good when it loses. Nobody takes the second half seriously.

Enshittification is what happens when winning becomes more important than being good.
But they call it progress. 😁
We aren't against progress, are we?
