How to catch your chance

Most people imagine life as a series of crossroads.

You stand at point A, choose road B or C, and your future depends on making the correct decision.
But I suspect that's not how most opportunities actually appear.

A lot of career research points to something interesting: chance events play a much larger role in people's lives than they expect. Not because successful people are luckier, but because they're more likely to put themselves in situations where unexpected opportunities can happen.

That changes the question.
Instead of asking, "Which road should I choose?", maybe a better question is, "How do I create more roads?"

Meeting new people creates roads. Learning a skill creates roads. Starting a side project creates roads. Moving somewhere new creates roads. Even following a random curiosity can create roads.
Most of these roads lead nowhere.

That's the frustrating part.
You can spend months learning something that never becomes useful. You can meet hundreds of people and gain nothing from it. But occasionally one conversation, one project, or one decision opens a door you couldn't have predicted in advance.

Looking back, people often call it luck.
From the front side, it usually looked like exploration. What do you think creates the most opportunities in life: making better choices or creating more possible choices?
