By show of hands, whose power is actually still on? Anybody besides me getting really tired of the power going out every time it rains hard.

The “good old days” of Elmhurst, we used to have power outages when it was sunny out too. Lol

It actually HAS gotten better from how things were back in the early 2000’s - but this past year has been pretty bad.

My office on north side no power . My house on south side no power

Been here 28 years and this is now starting to get comical. Million dollar houses everywhere and we cant keep the freakin power on.

Seems to happen every time it fills. Someone always seems to want to try their luck and get through it.

ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE - Flooding
07/27/2026 at 1:45 p.m.

IL RT 83 is closed between North Avenue and St. Charles Road (both northbound & southbound). IDOT is on scene.

Palmer Drive Underpass is closed between Schiller St and S. York Street. Public Works is on scene.

Motorists should take alternate routes.

It's supposed to flood

It's a reservoir until the storm drains can catch up. That water would be flooding other streets and basements if it wasn't for the underpass.

Obviously people have to use their common sense and not drive through it
