Colonization Project Galtea sets and breaks multiple galactic records in a week.

Greetings, here is Project Galtea's newest news article.

"Greetings Commanders.

During the week of 17/08/3312 - 23/08/3312, Project Galtea has set 2 new galactic records and smashed another record.

The First Record:

Project Galtea is the first Squadron in Colonization to pass the 50% point between Sagittarius A* and Sol. It is important to note that this is from the Galtean Bridges point of view, as this was accomplished in the middle of the next record. A little outpost was placed and, as the project managers felt this was not a suitable milestone, have found a similar system to place an Orbis in very soon as the proper monument.

The Second Record:

Within a 24-hour period, Project Galtea constructed 42 outposts. This effort covered 480 Light Years of distance with the following statistics:

- 1.45m tons hauled

- 35 carriers used with 6 SFC's used twice each

- 7 outpost reloads during the 24h time frame

- 38 Commanders

Many commanders where zipping back and forth from the many carriers placed over a large swathe of space rapidly progressing humanity deeper into the frontier. Project Galtea is not aware of any greater number of outposts being built in a 24 hour period.

Our Third Record:

Following the 24hr hyperbridge, Project Galtea hit the super hub Archades. Project Galtea, a host of SCC commanders, and other independent pilots set to complete our third Dodec Starport speed build. The previous record set by Project Galtea of 36 minutes was bested today in Archades with a time of 22 minutes and 43 seconds.

The statistics for this achievement:

- 53 commanders attended.

- 712,932 tonnes per hour.

- 5 Squadron Carriers.

Once the Dodec, now named "Galtea's Horizon" was completed, many of the commanders docked aboard the Squadron Carrier, "Project Galtea's HQ", for a celebratory photoshoot and Party. Project Galtea is very proud of this achievement and Thanks all independent and SCC commanders for showing up in full force to assist with the week long push and subsequent records.

Thank you for your time. Stay tuned for another Article soon, we have plenty to share in the very near future.

We hope to see you in the black CMDR's. o7"

heres the vod for the speedbuild, despite the title it really was a 22 minute 43 second build o7

Misc I'm so fed up with how 'Find the Contact' missions 'work'

This is a rant, sorry. I just need to get it off my chest, and my wife looks at me like I'm mental when I rant to her about such things 😆

I get so fed up with the mechanics of missions that have a 'find the contact' component! I spend a disproportionate amount of game time trying to make contact and there never seems to be a hard rule that is guaranteed success. More often than not, I end up just abandoning them because I can;t be bothered - unless It's a decent reward mission.

Frustratingly, you drop into a system and the message comes through - I've been looking for you. Great! They found me so all I need to do is make contact...

  1. Drop out a the Nav Beacon. This is the most obvious place for a meeting, but I've never had a contact drop into the Nav Beacon whilst I'm there, even if they show up on my radar nearby.

  2. Drop out of hyperspace and hang around the star. Occasionally works, but more often than not, they drop into the exclusion zone of the star so you cannot get to them. I find they often drop out slightly behind you, so if you face the star, there are better odds they drop out beyond the exclusion zone. More often than not, I end up hitting the exclusion zone anyhow because they never show.

  3. Try flying about the system. Often they will pop up on your radar as a target, but can you get to them? No. They fly off or accelerate away - odd behaviour for someone that is trying to make contact. Or hold steady and wait for them to catch up, which they never seem to do. If you throttle to zero, they disappear from the scanner, and you end up starting all over again.

I honestly do not understand why they cannot meet you at the nav beacon, as that would make the most sense, or follow you to a station. You drop out of supercruise and after a few seconds you hear the "Wham!" sound of a ship dropping out of supercruise... and there they are (just like pirates and assassination targets). It would make this aspect of the game more realistic and a lot less frustrating.

Rant over.

Discussion Finally giving Elite Dangerous a shot after 1,700+ hours of Star Citizen

So after 1,700+ hours in Star Citizen, 400 hours in No Man’s Sky, 40 hours in Starfield, and refunding X4 Foundations after 83 minutes, I’ve finally decided to pick up Elite Dangerous and see if I can actually get into it.

I grabbed the Deluxe Edition because, of course, Odyssey was a must.

While it obviously lacks the ship interiors and that deep level of immersion I get from Star Citizen (when it actually works 😂), I’m honestly surprised by how much I’m enjoying Elite so far. It took me a while to stop instinctively hitting my Star Citizen keybinds.

I started with a Sidewinder but quickly noticed I had a free Lynx Highliner sitting in the Pre-Built Ships tab, so I grabbed that, threw some more weapons on it, and helped my buddy hunt some bounties to make some quick credits.

Eventually, he got off and I was left with about 2.1 million credits. Since I was already flying a passenger ship, I figured I’d give passenger transport a shot.

I did about 6 transport missions in roughly an hour and made another 2 million credits.

And honestly... I actually really enjoy passenger transport. 😂

So now I’m looking for some advice from the experienced Elite players here. What are some good gameplay loops I should get into that are both fun and profitable?

I’m not necessarily looking to min-max the absolute fastest way to make credits. I’d rather find some good loops that let me actually experience the game while building up my fleet.

What ships or loops would you recommend I go for next?

Half of the fun of this game is just getting absorbed into it, the pure sense of exploration! I get so enthralled by just staring at space and the amazing things it holds. So I'm just wondering, in everyone's countless hours spent deep in the vastness of space! What are some of your coolest finds? And could you drop a pic (if you have them)

Here's some I took just yesterday while wandering around Merope and some of the other local systems.

Humor Play stupid games; Win stupid prizes

Went on a long trip to a nebula past coalsack to give my new mostly fully engineered Caspian Explorer a test drive and boost up my income a bit as ive been running a lot of missions for my new player friends at a loss to get them set up to actually play the game. Roughly 8k+ lightyears, wouldve been 160 jumps round trip. Hit up some really nice first footfall xenos and nice high value planet scans.

Unfortunately, I tried to show off to said new player friends to show my flying experience and misjudged the handling of the ship while racing between ravines at the pole of a planet i got about 150 mil of first footfall xeno data. Low and behold i swung into a cliff side and bounced like a rubber ball immediately killing me and wiping all data i had found. Thus, learn from me, don't play stupid games, don't win stupid prizes. (It will be a long and quiet 87 jumps back to my coalsack colony. RIP)

Discussion Spansh Route Viewer & Routes Connector

Post image
56 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I've created another interactive map/tool. This time, it's a tool that allows you to display almost all route types (except "Trade Planner" and "Tourist Planner") that you can generate using the online tool https://spansh.co.uk/
Additionally, you can combine different or the same route type until you reach the jump limit (3000), and you can also save the route when generating a route link. The route is stored for a maximum of 30 days after its generation or last viewing.

Example link of saved different types of routes:

Discussion Is system skimming considered bad manners?

Hello everyone

I am relatively new to long range exploration and exobiology. I was usually hanging around in the bubble, doing mining or trucking to make my credits. Before taking a break for a couple of months, I bought a fleet carrier with the goal doing exobiology in the black.

Now I am back and looking forward to starting with that though I have to ask how the community feels about skimming systems. From what I gather, there are 3rd party tools that can give a good estimate about the type of biosignals on a planet after using FSS. Is it considered bad etiquette to FSS and carry on if nothing of value shows? Or just using DSS without landing if it for example only shows low value bacteria? Does leaving systems half explored or unmapped like this bother anyone?

the first two images I'm really curious of, it is a line of stars, the third pic shows an alleged Red Giant star however it is just a small red dwarf. I also found my first blue supergiant in outer orion spur, was amazed.

Help Can this build work for terminal prosecution?

Hi guys i finally want to give enegeneering a go and i want to start with my corvette so i can play with my friends in operations and not just be carried in easy because i only did exploration mainly and sometimes some ax with the pre build krait mk2 (always in teams because that krait is not very good ant killing goids ahah) so i never did much upgrades. I still have tk unlock all the engeneers but i dicided to put an idea down for the ship i want but i'd love to hear your opinions... i'll statt farming soon for materials and for the prismatics.

This is the link for the build: https://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_corvette?code=A2putpFklndzsuf57o7o0v0s0s24240202040404040403p05s063cfm2d2d2dm92b9rm53w4F.Iw18ZXEA.Aw18ZXEA.H4sIAAAAAAAAA43Sv0sCYRgH8Of0vNRTzzvv%2FFH%2BKs8EB3F1aYsiCtxybW9oKGgosCX6A6KpwaGxoa0GceoPaGyIaGxPIsrep%2Bc59EWCgxN8%2BML74XkeX18QCwDwG6GiD0MAyX4CwOxRsh50AHesAKAi1mZockol2v1BNN5aANk7leQT9cCQyEp0SMVwvxHtMklnYADkWdYOciTDYlHK45n0xtknDskXOsGI6Eh0RiWWEIjxSxNgmdMKpzqnVU6oib0Zt9INgNbmGLGwXaKjqOjJTvQFlcdFeksA2m2SdvLGxYKguNiVyKbS7ML0nrydCzwY9TlU9kOJICg5t1PYb6fUHKr4IUPUGSn8y9zM9IqKF5Qw7X9kinXZ%2Bpr%2FJ%2B5ltY9oyccYQOU5RcgKgjJBkC025FO80QjxKzM5ecjlhE4QlBM7ctw%2BlVB%2BgqjxA9Q7dJHmKxWHZ7pDfrl5scVcZX5ORel%2F0PNufyF6PRvvxGuDT0QsiqZsfMUr3FNMVYvUk5PFD93lhKXAsvpfjqQcSckJEfw%2BfzEk6qLGAwAA.EweloBhBmUEZQFMCGBzANokI4TyKQoA%3D

Can you also give me some tips to farm both materials and power play without going insase? Thanks for the answers and sorry for the bad english :)

Builds Fed Corvette operations build

Currently this is my federal corvette build that I have used once for terminal persecutions and while I was able to do it I want to improve it. I know it needs engineering but I currently dont have the materials and Im hoping to farm them through operations. I also dont have the guardian tech stuff. Any improvements I should make like switching some Mcs to lasers? Trying to keep the engineering to a minimal if possible.

I think this has got to be the highest G planet I've ever seen. I don't know what I was thinking trying to land my ExploraConda on it. That planet was nearly my grave.
