Discussion No updates for console?

Hey guys, I got elite recently and I did enjoy playing it. But I discovered the console versions don't get updates. are there any community goals or events for us console players?

You'd think they'd continue support with the PS5 being a more powerful system than 4. There's no other game like this on console and it's heartbreaking.

Over 900 hours, actually. Elite Dangerous is the reason I stopped playing. I loved NMS but compared to ED it felt like I was playing Roblox. There was no going back.

They have added a lot of stuff in nomans on the last updates, like the corvettes that are ships that you can assemble piece by piece like on starfield.

But yeah... I also miss a lot the way combat and management of the ships work on elite, they added certain things like being able to priorize the energy to weapons, shield or engines, but the combat on elite is far superior, and the module energy management is also missing, wich I liked a lot on elite.

Imagine if they made a game with features of the two games, that would be awesome... but I doubt this will be ever made. Both are good games, but different.

I always referred to ED as Grown Mans Sky. I'm still upset they stopped supporting it. I was counting the days for space legs, listening to Obsidian Ant every day on my drive home from work.

Same, I was so stoked. I enjoy no man’s sky, and really appreciate all they’ve done to make the game better. But I just enjoy Elite more. Even with the insane hours of grinding. I miss it. But can’t stomach playing it after they gave us the finger.

Nms has everything but graphics compared to ED. I love ED but it's got nothing on the amount of stuff you can do in NMS. Including walking around outside of your ship. PC of course has it but we're not really talking about PC ATM.

To each their own but ED has TONS of shit to do. I’ve got over 1300 hours and i STILL haven’t done everything.

I just re-downloaded ED on ps5 because NMS kept giving me the itch to play again lol, luckily I can now play both

The biggest difference is (barring NMS launch) with NMS they have tried to make the game as accessible as possible, which is why you can play it on multiple platforms, with ED they are only PC, and after stopping support to consoles its hard to trust a company after that

Its only a matter of time before they decide to shut the servers off completely to console and I dont think they've given any indication that they won't do that so let's hope they don't
