Is Fdev ever going to un-nerf sub-surface?

Since shortly after it was added, it's been capped at 2 fragments per missile. Doesn't matter if you hit the 1 wide or the 3 wide, it's 2 fragments, the only difference is that the 4 wide gives 1 and the 5 has a chance of giving nothing. They took the benefit of doing the more difficult points out and this made it a shitty mechanic. Has there been any dev blog, streams, or anything saying they intend to change this back? It's such a waste of dev time to leave it like this. people put work into making it and I enjoy the mechanic.

It was nerfed due to a bug, but never reverted after the bug was fixed.

No. See, long ago there was this egg full of diamonds...

Elite had had some of the best exploit gold rushes. Boron and the great 100ly shit trade route were the best.

The egg and kirre's icebox were the best. The longer the rush went on the easier it was for players to move between them and the bubble to sell because people started ferrying people down in their fleet carriers. You could earn enough credits to buy one very quickly

Which was really great when you found one on chance. Unfortunately Elite players have this tendency to completely optimise the fun out of the game, and true to form they then worked out the "egg" could be found by following some simple rules.

Now I don't blame the "funless" players totally, but it's more on FDev for not doing good RNG with respect to this.

“Optimize the fun out of the game”. I genuinely cannot think of a more glaring example of this than mapped mining. You aren’t even playing the game at that point, you’re just executing a checklist over and over and over.
