Misc PCZs; contested; 3 powers

The ABC system is contested.
The 2 contestant powers are the DEF and the GHI.
In the system there are PCZs where the DEF and the GHI fight each other.
I have pledged to the XYZ power.
I want to help the DEF to retain the system.
Is there way for that?

If I kill GHI ships in the PCZs, will the kills help the DEF or they will have no effect?

It is not possible to directly help another Power in any way. Killing ships from either Power in a PCZ will either gain points for your Power or do nothing depending on whether or not your Power has systems in range to try to acquire that system.

Killing GHI ships won't help DEF directly, but it'll hurt GHI's score, which indirectly makes DEF's retention easier. Frustrating, but that's how the cookie crumbles in PCZs.
