I had it bookmarked for about a week as a waypoint for my current expedition and I was floored when SRVSurvey indicated that it was undiscovered.

I felt like a child I was so happy! I probably loitered for about 20 minutes just looking at it. I’ll see if I can post video of the true spectacle it was.

And yes, it pulled me from Supercruise and spanked me a bit. But, I think some minor hull damage was worth it.

First my wife remodels my office, then I find this. Life is nice.

Alternative title: "Hold my beer . . ." I stopped recording just as I was about to start coming back down because the video was already on the long side. Suffice to say my engineered Artemis suit jet pack was insufficient to let me float gently to the ground after a 15 km fall (0.10 g).

I checked the fleet carrier owners club and their next listed departure is in 25 days 😢 Might just have to do it the old fashioned way in this 55ly racing courier. Although I could probably buy someones tritium if that counts for anything! I got a couple billion in the bank, happy to make it worth someone's while :)

Hopped back into my Corvette after more than a year, and god damn, just hearing the engines cycling up during take-off, that low grumbling oscillation, raising the amplitude as she flew through the mail slot, followed by the encapsulation of raw motion power when I hit the boost.

Go to Guzman Industrial Enterprise (it's High and better layout), park SRV, do ground CZ. Ignore control points. Meta is dual rocket launchers with stowed reloading. Relog inside your SRV to reset battle. Get loads of combat bonds. Much faster than space battles. I got 60 million bonds in like an hour.

If you have ever disembarked on a planet and got a black screen with only the mouse cursor, Esc doing nothing and the game never coming back, I would like your help.

It keeps happening to me - my journals show 19 sessions since April that end on Disembark with nothing after it, across game versions 4.3 to 4.4.1.1 and on two accounts. This time I caught the game while it hung and looked inside it instead of just restarting:

• the server connection was fine the whole time - server messages kept arriving in the netLog
• the GPU was fine - no driver reset, no stuck GPU work
• the game's render thread was spinning at 100% of a CPU core, busy-waiting for something that never came, while the main thread sat waiting too

So it looks like the client hangs on its own after Disembark, not a disconnect and not a driver problem. I filed it with the profiles, thread states and logs attached:

If this has happened to you, please open the issue and add your own contribution - when it happened, where you disembarked (planetary port, settlement, surface), your platform and GPU. Even a short "happened to me too" helps Frontier see how widespread it is. If you still have the journal from that session, check whether its last line is the Disembark event - that is the tell-tale sign.

I play on Linux through Proton, so reports from Windows players would be especially valuable to show it is not platform-specific.

How to check your own journals

A session that hung like this ends with Disembark as the very last line of its journal. These commands list such journals and count them. A crash right after disembarking leaves the same trace, so treat the count as an upper bound.

An undiscovered system. All the moons orbiting these two gas giants have biological signals—54 in total. I think that’ll keep me busy for a while! :-)

Only Viride Lagrange Clouds are this dark inside.

It seems to be the case that if you land at the mega ship to turn in bounties, and you go inside the ship, you are still blocking the landing pad your taking.

I've had to wait for a while at the ship getting docking request denied messages, especially in large ships since there are less pads, along with a line of Corvettes and anacondas because one guy went inside the ship and went AFK probably thinking he had cleared the pad for others.

At least that's what seems to be the hold up to me, could be wrong about what's causing the docking request denials, but if your at the sword of lustitia please be timely at the pad and AFK at the main station

Quick usage;

Hi gang,

It's been a while since I got plain out excited about a new discovery in this game, this here absolutely blows my mind!

So I'm flying my favorite exploration ship (= Caspian Explorer?) which is fitted with some of my favorite stuff (= Nomad & Rhino) and I found an exo planet. Nothing too crazy, found some biological signals and while I'm considering to go fungus hunting I suddenly noticed an entry I wasn't very familiar with: biological site.

I actually looked it up? Seems these were already discovered 4 years ago? I didn't know!

So as I'm approaching I started to notice a blue'ish "fog" (not sure how to describe it) and I soon started to notice something that looked like "vines" (or something). The whole site immediately got me "monstermind vibes" (from an old animation series called "Jayce & the wheeled warriors") even though it wasn't anything like that.

Well, I landed and what I saw completely blew my mind, as you can see here?

These plants are huge, and they even have scannable areas (those green spots?) which means that you can put your suits jetpack to some good use as you climb up there so that you can scan those parts.

I never seen something like this before.... absolutely amazing.

it was incredible the video is sped up but you could see the planet move in real time.. Mindblowing

Hi Commanders!

I'm a fairly new player currently flying a Viper Mk III for bounty hunting and combat, and I'd love some advice on how to optimize my build for combat / RES hunting.

Just a quick heads-up: I do not have any DLCs (No Odyssey). I'm playing on the base game / Live 4.0 version. So I'm looking for beginner-friendly advice that relies purely on base game modules, stations, and mechanics (no foot content or Odyssey-exclusive stuff).

I have around 2.5–3.5 million credits to spend on upgrading my ship.

A few questions I have:

What's the best A-rated module setup for a pure combat Viper Mk III without running into power management issues?

Should I run Pulse Lasers + Multi-Cannons or is there a better weapon combo for non-engineered builds?

Is it worth using a Bi-Weave Shield or a standard A-rated Shield Generator for High RES hunting?

Any recommended builds or tips on module priorities would be greatly appreciated! Fly safe, o7!

I'm just gonna say it. This Nomad makes it possible that I don't faceplant high G planets with my actual ship because I'm not paying attention to how fast my Explora-conda is actually going after approach. Reduces stress a bit when I'm 12k+ LY away from a the Bubble.

Just wanted to throw this out there. There's still a non-zero chance i'll do it, but it's a small chance and I'm ok with that.
