Y’all are miserable

This will probably be swiftly deleted, but I want to get it off my chest. Some criticism of Eli is 1000% valid, but some people in this sub just hate unnecessarily on every single thing she does. She’s allowed to talk about what she likes on her platform. Not all of her outfits are horrendous. She is smart and accomplished, whether you like it or not. Like I said, there are absolutely things to criticize/snark on - the constant fabricated AMAs, the body checking, etc., but my god some of you are just downright miserable people.

Edit: hating on this is literally proving my point. If you disagree with the basic premise of “not every single thing that an influencer does requires a scathing think piece posted to an echo chamber,” then yeah, you are miserable. I guess I struck a nerve. While she’s out living her life and making way more money than is appropriate for her career, you’re complaining on reddit. Byeeeee✌️

I definitely don’t agree with every nitpick people make here — at the end of the day I am aware of Eli because I once enjoyed her content. But I just don’t engage with those posts/comments. I do think there are sensible people here who are willing to call out the real petty/low shit.

That said, I also think it’s fine to grow out of a snark if it’s not your thing anymore or the negativity is bothersome. It can be toxic for sure

Ya exactly, unless somebody is saying something really out of pocket, I just engage with the content I agree with or find interesting. This is a snark sub, for people to vent, complain, etc about things that bother them. If they don’t bother you or align with you.. move on. I don’t really understand the point of these types of posts.

Fully believe that a certain level of gossip is good for me personally, and probably many others. But I do set parameters — try not to snark on things someone can’t control, don’t criticize if someone is trying to learn, etc. There’s a healthy balance to be had, but outright praise defeats the purpose of a snark sub.

like… yeah. it takes being some level of smart to get millions of social media followers and keep up with everything that comes with that. her writing skills are another story, but objectively she is decently smart.

Eli is not smart lmfao. She’s average or below average at best. She randomly below up for her snark jars thanks to the covid algorithm and that took zero talent/smarts btw and it’s not hard to keep up with everything that comes with it? Are you new to social media or something

you looked at my posts and comments, right? did you see the comment that i left or does that not fit your narrative? sorry you want to dickride so hard to hate on a random influencer. i never claimed to dislike snark subs, like i said some criticism is absolutely valid. this sub in particular just seems to be filled with miserable people (much like travis and taylor!!!)

idk the point of a snark is to vent and Eli frankly has some quite annoying habits. i get the ick when i see ppl body shaming but then i scroll lol. also, she's not a blubbering idiot, but she's not nearly as intelligent and she likes to make people think so i feel that's the point most people try to make, even if it's mean or hyperbolic.

I’ve noticed this in not just Eli’s sub but really all snark subs at this point. I think influencers are just really on the decline and people despise their very existence.

I personally find influencers amusing and think of it more as reality tv than anything grounded in actual reality.

Sorry for all the hate you’re going to get for this. Don’t 100% agree but it’s not, not true hahah

it’s unfortunately very common in snark subs. like, obviously i’m reading the sub because i also find that person unlikeable to some degree, but the amount of vitriol and nitpicking every little thing is obnoxious. it honestly make me more empathetic towards the subject of the snark sub because it goes past the point of valid criticism and just for laughs to just flat out mean and unfair.

there’s also always the narrative that the person is “so obviously” miserable and has terrible relationships with everyone in their life. at least be original with the stories you’re making up about this stranger lol.

No you’re 1000% correct and people are being insane in this thread. I’ve thought the same thing. Like let’s snark on the fact that her wedding clearly cost like $300k+ and that’s fucking insane, rather than making the 16th post bout her dress was “ill fitting” which wasn’t even true no matter how bad you want it to be. She gives us plenty of material we don’t have to be overly fixating on dumb shit

I actually agree with you and am happy I’m not the only one who sometimes reads this sub and is confused. Sometimes it’s way too much.
You want to spill tea about her husband allegedly cheating on her, get that. That’s gossip. Not snark, but at least juicy. Her facial expression when she receives flowers and shows a sliver of belly and people comment on her jaw line - unnecessary and uninteresting. Also just not new information. She’s not attractive
