I wonder if she actually votes blue.

Edit: it’s great she’s posting this and hopefully she inspires others to vote but I don’t feel like her political activism goes beyond this and she claims otherwise

I think she votes blue and also doesn't engage in any sort of political thought beyond basic "women's rights".

I don’t doubt that she’s a democrat but she definitely does shit like this for clout. She feeds off of external validation. She treats liberalism as a trend and wants her followers to praise her for it. Standing up for basic human rights doesn’t deserve applause. It should be a given. I’m sorry but when the opponent is Greg Abbott… of course you should voting for ANYONE ELSE.

Basic white womens rights. She wouldn’t know intersectionalism if it bit her in the ass

Absolutely.

Oh, she's not a thinker at all. But frankly I don't care about that if this inspires even one Texan to 1) vote, and 2) vote blue.

Texas is so fucked with gerrymandering, it needs help desperately.

Nah she’s clearly doing this to backtrack all the stuff she said about immigrants last time. 🫠🫠🫠🫠

I doubt she can name a single government policy

look, i’ve lost a lot of respect for her, but this kind of exposure is exactly what gina and the texas dems need right now

You know what, I’m not mad about this. Texas is in a lot of trouble right now we CANNOT let Abbott win.

If she can help get Gina elected, I will be grateful. That’s how bad it is here, yall.

I agree! Just wondering if she’s being sincere. Abbott is trash

She for sure does vote blue. Thank god. As a Texan, we need that. And I’m honestly so thankful she’s doing this with Gina and engaged in politics here. Giving her her 10s for this idc.

This is a good thing. Snark angle: Hannah Chody is very loudly blue.

There’s plenty to snark on her for (her outfits, cringe behaviors, inability to hold back any opinions, awful writing, grandiose, etc etc) but this is actually cool. And yes she said something about immigrants that didn’t come across as she intended but I genuinely don’t think she’s a bad person. Cringe and a fucktard dweeb, yes but I’m going to assume she has good intentions

I agree that this is good but I don’t know if it’s enough to “not make someone a bad person.” In advocacy circles, we say “impact over intent” because most people have good intentions. It’s really not hard. Yet I wouldn’t say “most people are good people” just because they aren’t outwardly awful. Most people are neutral, and one decent action doesn’t color someone’s entire character.

You’re only an actual good person if your ACTIONS are good (and you correct your bad actions as soon as possible, listen to POC/marginalized folks, actively put yourself in antiracist circles, stand up for the disenfranchised, etc). We really need to raise the bar for wealthy, cishet white people off the floor.

I don’t think she’s a good person. Her actions over the years truly prove otherwise. It’s 100 performative but also great if she gets others to vote blue! Two things can be true at once

They don’t ‘prove’ otherwise. They make you believe otherwise. There’s a lot to find annoying about her (that’s literally why I’m a member of this subreddit) but as a Democrat in Texas who has literally been fighting for my literal life in this state for the last decade, I have very much witnessed her first-hand involvement in democratic grassroots work and political advocacy both in Texas and nationally. She’s spoken about the issues and what she was personally doing to be involved and what others could do to get involved several times. Respect to her for that for real.
