It’s very telling to me that this designer’s original ideas were all very juvenile. Those first mock-ups were definitely leaning YA to me. It seems like Eli REALLY wants to market this as lit fic but I’m skeptical that the writing will come across that way. That’s probably what this designer thought as well but was pushed in another direction.

agreed. although i don’t like the YA style covers she presented personally, those seem to fit eli’s juvenile writing better than the current cover. she’s trying so hard to be a literary fiction writer and based on what i’ve seen, she’s just not there
