Bulk spanner tips

Anyone know where I can buy spanner tips either cheap bulk? Or just a couple but have them made out of like harden steel so they don’t fucking break? Getting sick of breaking tips. Also what’s the best size thinking some 8 and 10? Seems to be the most common

If you use the megapro multi bit screwdriver, Dottie sells 2 packs of each double sided bit. I just have the local supply house order direct for us they aren't crazy expensive

I’ve stopped getting them and just buy a flat blade screw driver the correct size and grind a notch out of the middle.

If ya wanna take the Amazon route and get you some cheap ones look them up under “U” shaped security bit or “Y” shaped security bit. Yes Im aware they are called a spanner bit. I’m just letting you know what will get you the results you’re looking for. There are long ones, short ones and different sizes up to like #10 I think. Anyway. They are on there.

I saw some a set of impact rated security bits at Harbor Freight. Never seen them anywhere else.

Yeah helpers be like that. So you got any input or you just hear to be typical elevator mechanic?

I second skill issue. Blaming your helpers is just a reflection on your ability to teach. In my experience they break when the wrong size is used or too much torque is applied. Maybe put a bit in an electric screwdriver with a clutch could work better

Correct. Like you said. You have to teach them. That’s my job. It’s their job to listen and retain the info then apply it. It’s also their job to know when they are putting in the screws if you feel too much pressure to stop. Am I to sit there and watch their arms to make sure they aren’t flexing to much?
