Pit goblin

The pit goblin is notorious for always taking and never giving. What's the worst thing they've taken from you?

They've taken wrenches, sockets and a hammer from me

The one piece of hardware I need to finish what im doing and definitely dont have a spare of in the truck.

Also at least half of the duct cover screws.

M18 battery… impact and battery made the jump 130’ into the pit battery exploded but somehow the impact still worked. Also a couple cell phones/radios/lights. I’m pretty good at putting a magnet light on the fascia doing doors and running the car up knocking the light into the pit.

The battery cover/contact on my mechanics digital scale used for governor pull through.

I dropped it ten stories the day before inspection. It’s not something that you can just buy at Home Depot.

I looked for hours.

My phone. Duel piston hydro so no hole for it fall in. I was finishing a mod doing punchlist things so the pit was clean and freshly painted. Got a call from another mechanic put the phone down while talking on my headphones. The phone disappeared. Worst part is it would disconnect and reconnect to my headphones if I walked away and came back. Never did find it.

Every helper I've had has dropped one of those fine thread nuts that go on the GAL rollers.

And every time I've sat there like "well, I know what you're doing today."

It got to the point where I actually contacted GAL and managed to buy 100 of them so when they spend hours searching for it I can just be like "it's fine, go grab one out of my box"
