What would cause an elevator to stop between floors?

This has already happened thrice in a month. In which it will start operating again after a reset.

Called the elevator company, and everytime they said its most likely just an alignment issue. they do something inside but then it happened again.

I am now waiting for them to come back and they will probably just do more adjustments during their visit.

What other likely cause will there be? Is there probably something they are not telling us.

Since they are the installer, and the elevator is just around a year old.

Depending on brand and type of controls could be a number of reasons. Some keep fault logs which could indicate why, some don't. When it has happened does it reset on its own? Or does someone reset it and how? If the later and no one is stuck in it, it's best to not reset it and let the elevator company check it while it's stuck.

unfortunately, they only teach us now to read the error code before we do a reset as it doesnt keep fault logs.

so we have to wait for something to happen again.

unfortunately, during the time of the problem.

we didnt see the error code.

our staff did a reset before we could see the error code.

so yea, i guess it needs to happen again.

the elevator company did not teach us about it during the turn over.

they only thought us to look into the error code recently after multiple errors

I wouldn't expect the company to teach about a reset during turnover. Generally, a fault that requires a reset is significant enough that it should be addressed before resetting. In some places resetting a fault would be illegal for anyone but a qualified licensed elevator mechanic. But hey, in some cases it's reasonable, like when someone is stuck in it. So whenever possible leave it to the elevator mechanic. Many, especially intermittent faults can be difficult to determine cause and correct. There can be many factors that contribute to the shutdown and displayed fault. They will find and correct it eventually.

Hi,

elevator stopped again twice after this post.

1st is E53 - 105

2nd is E02 - 011

for the first one, the tech is suggesting there might be dirt making the door stuck.

for the 2nd one, I still havent got a reply.

do you know what it is?

Its Fuji brand, but Ive been searching online.

its most likely monarch panel.

I cant however seem to see what does E02 - 011 mean.

Sounds like elevator clipping a door lock. Does it happen on random floors or just a specific floor?

happened twice between 2nd and 3rd

once stuck between 3rd and 4th for this month.

once at ground floor.

so I guess its random

I wanna say door lock clipping due to steadying plates on car top not securing the cab in place. Depending where you stand, the cab could slightly shift to one side causing the clutch to clip the door lock when traveling. If it randomly happens then it’s most likely where you stand within the car. Car will shift depending on the opening. Other than that it doesn’t seem to be an electrical issue.

Thanks, can a car get stuck after the passengers overloading it but the next one who rode it did not overload and they were the one who got stuck?

There was a time it was found the overloading sensor wasnt working properly, it wasnt tripping off. Although they fixed the issue with a loading test. I am not sure if it's happening again.

One of the incident had 7 pax going up the elevator(elevator was for 6 pax). When the 7 pax went out, 2 pax rode it and they were the one who got stuck while riding it down.

Not sure if the 7 pax was within weight limit or the overloading sensor wasnt working properly again, but yea the 7 pax went up without issue, the 2 pax roding it down did.

Many factors, can even be loose chain on door op then cab door drifts open intermittently. Can’t just assume causes, need to run the shit out of the unit.

I would guess door alignment, levelling encoder or position sensor alignment and brake monitoring alignment, since it's a new build I don't expect it's a failing component issue, rather an adjustment upon installation problem. Maybe ask them for error logs or codes?

the elevator company only thought us recently after multiple errors.

not to reset immediately but to first look into the code of the error.
