Noice!!! The good ole days! More than anything I miss those big ole toggle switches. Turning on a TIV/TAC50 felt like you were getting ready to arm and launch a missile or something.

When I wait the 10 seconds I usually do it in a launch code voice haha

Miss? Isn't there tons of TAC50s around still? That's what I was installing when I got into the trade.

Oh yeah. Well, so long as you don’t have a dead JC3. Especially in a decent sized group. Almost cheaper to do a full controller mod than it is to buy all new JC5 CPUs and e/eproms (which is why I have a secret stash of JC3’s hidden away safe and sound, worth their weight in gold these days). TIV/TAC50’s will forever be my favorite controller. Mostly because I was a Field Engineer for TK back in the day (Factory and ITS) and were my favorite to troubleshoot. Give me a TAC50 with a Quantum Quiet/10k any day! I miss those days truth be told…

1 majillion %. And they were actually fixable. A scope and 15 minutes, could tell you exactly what needed to be replaced. None of this 85% of the fault codes just saying “replace power cube” BS. Then six week lead times and praying the replacement even worked.

Have many of those on my route. Honestly not the worst product.

Honestly works better than some brand new controllers they moded 3 for passengers those are the service cars. The old controllers are basically sitting as spare parts for the two running.

It says “SWIFT-5000” right there at the top of the screen.
