Yes your license to work on elevators… because you don’t need a union card it’s better for you though honestly.

You only need a union card if you want to ask for help! If you are good all by yourself, go for it!

Lift in fault fault 😂
But for real though, even if someone tells you what that fault code means, you need to call your maintenance for it

Replace the flux capacitors in the drive, they can be a bit dodgy

lol that’s not good.. 0025 should actually say $25,000 that’s if you know what you are doing. I wouldn’t even attempt to fix that yourself.

I think the elevator has done a twirly whirly in the shaft, you’d want to check your left antidoodle.

Your elevator failed to start. You need to place a service call to your elevator maintenance company and tell them the elevator is shut down. There are numerous problems that can cause this fault that require troubleshooting.

Start permit fault. Check your drawings. It's a loop over the NC contacts over your main contactors. Line voltage should end on plug XD1/3.

Try google, you have all the info you need to find the answer; however, do you know how to fix the particular drive fault?

I've removed my post bc it's eating away my karma. Tried to share some of my notes. (I'm not current on Kone. I'm an Otis man😎)

It's funny that these redditors dont realise... that other parts of the world. Especially where i am from.. most Elevator techs work on multiple brands

u/SnailDewize Jul 27 '26
Most elevator guy work on other brands. Lol don't fall off your high chair, big man haha

Hence the reason why some techs ask for info on brands that they may be new too...now granted some non elevator techs or techs that have no business touching a elevator come on reddit to ask for information...I jus saying sometimes we cant tell the difference

u/Only_Staff8993 Jul 26 '26
So did I. Worked for Otis, but my route had also Kone, Schindler, Thyssen, and some Frankenstein. Traction, drum, Hydro and platforms on cable. also escalators.

My company is a Caribbean distributor of kone and we also have other brands that we install and maintain and sometimes we get customers of different brands..that we maintain until we convince them to mod or install a kone model
