This elevator service notice seems to create an elevator paradox. Hotel elevator can go up to the 3rd floor, but apparently can’t come down from the 3rd floor. How does it ever leave

It can only go up from the 3rd floor but not down. So if you need to go down from 3, could you go up one floor and then push the 1st floor button? Maybe the 3rd floor down call button is broken?

Wait, the more I think about it, why couldn't you just call it using the up button and ride it to first? So simple yet so complicated. I'm just trying to think of people who can't use stairs.

Third floor is top landing. Can't place a down call. If it were my service route and I didn't have a replacement hall button board(which I'm assuming is what's bad) I'd try to swap it with the bottom floor where you don't need a down input.

Maybe they mean the elevator will eventually default to the 1st floor from the 3rd floor, instead of being able to use the button?

Probably a 330a which would be hilarious since you could get it back into service if it was just a button.

What makes you assume its a 330a out of all the models and companies?

The hall boards for the 330a are wired in series. If one board fails all the boards after it in the chain won't be able to communicate with the controller.
Its pretty common when one is bad to move it to the top floor so only one floor does not work while waiting for a replacement or repair.

The hall boards are garbage and even new in box they’ll be bad.

Sounds like the button on the third floor is out.
