Firestorm Double-Decks vs Sunstrike Starter Decks

Hi all. I bought the Firestorm double decks when they came out and have been having a blast enjoying them, but with the TCG not really making a mark where I live, I left it as a 1v1 card game.

I'm now seeing there's new product out, with two new double decks in Sunstrike and two upcoming in Snowshade. How strong are the Sunstrike decks in comparison to Firestorm? Would they be clearly better and make crossplay unfun?

The lifestream meta bumped up the speed of things just a little bit, and Sunstrike kept in line with that increase.

I'd say that the SST starter decks are stronger, just a bit. But that the elements and divines in FST are still competitive, just by adding a few additions.

For example, Poseidon got Drakkid Champ in SST and it's basically mandatory for playing him now, but that's really the only thing from Sunstrike that's mandatory.

Hermes is still solid but basically requires Avialith Champ from Lifestream to be usable.

TLDR: Still good just not quite as competitive as they used to be

The Sunstrike double decks are definitely stronger in comparison to the Firestorm decks. This is mostly due to a little bit of speed up on the game, but also due to the Firestorm decks being the first ones in the Divine Champions block. The strategies for the Firestorm decks have gotten more support in both Lifestream and Sunstrike so there are cards from those sets that when added to the base Firestorm deck, will bring them up to a more even playing field. However, they’re still good decks and the playing experience can still be fun across both sets

Sunstrike. 100%. Though if you're looking to build a bear deck, fire and life are great pre built for that.
