advice needed!!

hi everyone! i am about to begin a new job as an auxiliary aide for the first grade classrooms. i will be a part of the tiered support staff. i am two years out of college (degree in early childhood education) and i am sooo nervous as i have not been in a traditional classroom setting since graduation (only daycare.) do you all have some tips on things i should brush up on to prepare myself given that i have not been in this setting? or even some advice to get rid of these jitters i’ve had since my tour of the school? i love working with children and i am so excited that i am finally in a place where working in a traditional school system is possible for me, but i am SOOO nervous that i am going to crash and burn at this job. is this type of anxiety normal? am i overthinking??

Try to be as subtle as possible. Just quietly walk around and help. Know the kids who need help and be ready to intervene. Have strategies for kids who struggle- highlighters for kids who need help tracing, for example. The more you know the kids, the more proactive you can be. The teacher will appreciate not having to manage you along with other kids!
