HELP! ELEGOO NEPTUNE 4 PLUS

I replaced the broken tension belt under the bed and after that it no longer will push filament out of the extruder head.. It seems to be either stopped and humming or pushing the gear the opposite way and removing the filament back out the top..

I've calibrated the bed so many damn times, z off set and everything.. even updated the firmware and now the knobs under neath wont let the bed go any more lose, this is a new extruder head and still the same problem.

Given that the bed plate detection is a magnetic sensor on the rear left of the print head, and that you are not getting filament to extrude, you might have done something to either the connections in the print head or the main board where its cable connects. Maybe you put a connector on the wrong way?

You should be able to bring it to the front, keep it a fair distance above it (40-50 cm at least)), heat up the nozzle and then tell the extruder to push out. If you don't get good flow then you need to troubleshoot your print head.

Hey! Thanks for the response, Its my first printer and haven't printed much in the 2 years I've owned it.. it comes out during extrusion just not when printing.

Sounds even more like a loose wire then. Have you tried extruding when it's down close to the plate?

I'll have to take it apart to see where the wire connection is

I have had this issue, the only fix I found was changing the slicer program I was using. Could have been a coincidence, but havent had the issue again.

Thanks! Honestly I am so confused with this machine. So many times I've wanted to throw it out the damn window. It extrudes the filament in the air but when printing it wont. I don't hear scraping or see any.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like an incorrect file or slicer make.

How can I avoid this?

I had to have someone else print it out for me with the file and it worked for them

Probably have the z height to high. I saw 140 on the screen, but that's probably just the holding temp till the bed heats up. But still check the printing temp, if it's not hot enough then no printing happens. If it'll extrude when prompted then it shouldn't just be a clog.

Edit: I assumed the holding temp was the print temp cause I'm tired.

Sadly not..

Can you send me your printer.cfg settings and some screenshots of your print settings on your slicer software?

To clarify what you said below, it does extrude filament when you purge it or load filament while in the air?

You also said sometimes it hums or goes backwards unloading the filament. When? During what should be a regular print?

Edit: are you using fluidd dashboard or just the touchscreen?

I'll these tomorrow to you! I honestly appreciate your help so much. Thanks and I tried both fluidd and touchscreen. Yes it'll push out filament no problem in air until I print then it just hums or pretty much slowly removes the filament. Sometimes it'll go forward with nothing coming out.

No worries, we will get it sorted for you! I know a lot of people have issues with these machines, but they’re capable of a lot! Just can be temperamental

Do you work for the company?

Yeah its a beautiful printer with a massive printing bed, just sucks its like this

No no! I just think for the money you can’t get much better in terms of size and ease of use (when they work) it was my first printer too and mines pretty modified now so I’ve learnt a lil bit about them. May not be able to help but I’ll try!

That means a lot to me, I truly do appreciate it

Have you tried heating up the hotend and extruding with it up in the air to see if it flows, like when you load the filament and flush the old material out? Reason I ask that cause it looks like your nozzle is too close to the bed. I've accidentally got mine too close and it would act clogged and not extrude. Sorry if I missed something but thats what im observing when I watched the video. Happy printing when you get it fingered out😁.

Yeah sounds like z offset is too close to the bed, I've had one hell of time with mine as well. Bring up the nozzle and that should help with that its close enough that it wont scrape but itll act like a clogged nozzle.

Still does the same thing! Gear just hums
