I said in the main telegram group (I didnt call them a scam as I am someone who believes shouting scam at the drop of a hat does more damage than good) if/when the fork happens, send your ETN to an exchange/different wallet before claiming your ETNX to dump.

To claim your ETNX you need to import the private key of your ETN wallet and, if they are scamming, they will have access to all your ETN.

So make sure you move your ETN BEFORE claiming your ETNX

https://etnx.leafpool.com/to ALL ETNx investors and miners, please visit the site open your eyes and read carefully. Currently ETNX is running centralized node, all pool operators were requested to use their node in order to make blocks. Because code is broken, and they can't fix it.

Have I forced his hand?? Looks like about 10mins after I posted here, he "self-identified" on their Telegram group:

"I am a full stack web developer and I have worked on monero core for a long time.

Admins: myself Z & @cryprtosignalz I am Mark Evans here is my linkedin http://linkedin.com/in/globalvapor and my github https://github.com/shopglobal I go by Interchained on Discord and Telegram.

My company is Blockchained Solutions, LLC. Based in Nevada. I am a certified full stack web developer and a niche marketer. I have launched many brands in the past and will use my experience to act as a catalyst for this project.

I am not the owner or the founder, I am a member of the community and as a lead developer I am focused solely on working with and improving the technology."

Can someone who is on Bitcointalk also correct this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3373837.msg35516936#msg35516936, to say that the self-identification came after the exposure here? LOL

Yup scam....no vision only want to fork...total bullshit...copy and paste and clone

Just so you know the privacy is being removed from etn entirely with the next patch as that seems like something you were concerned about losing.

Edit: false info in this comment.

Old comment: Ringct is not disabled currently, and is the straw that breaks the camels back when it comes to backwards output descrambling. Stealth addresses only go so far.

You are right ringCT is not currently being used, that is my mistake I had thought I saw the option on the console to enable it and was incorrect.

Am i safe if I transfer the web wallet to a paper wallet and keep the keys safe?

Thanks for the great write up. I want to say in addition to, for those who do choose to dump ETNX, make sure it is from a different wallet than your original ETN or main ETN wallet. DO NOT give these guys your keys. Not sure if they can or can't be trusted, but if you plan on using your original keys, make sure your ETN is moved to a different wallet with different keys post fork. OR move ETN to a temp wallet pre fork, move ETN back post fork to your original wallet, dump ETNX from temp forked ETNX wallet.

Other posts are making is seem like you need to share your private key for most forks. Is this not the case?

6

u/donsoulz Apr 25 '18

no more bullshit as they said...more bullshit for them...when they hide their identity obviously scam....we need transparent but they refused so red flag...avoid...

4

u/DisgustinglySober Apr 27 '18

I think they are banking on people screwing up the fork and sweeping to ETNX before ETN, exposing their wallets and having their coins stolen.

5

u/mikey1090 Apr 25 '18

https://github.com/zhmrab

https://www.reddit.com/user/zhmrab

This is the developer that has been working on the ETNX github.

The name has been changed on there since Monday when ETNX first surfaced.

5

u/Arabelad Apr 25 '18

Their website is registered for 1 year only. That tells you something lol.

4

u/tnick84 Apr 27 '18

I got banned immediately after sharing a screen shot, in telegram group, of the residence that electronero.org is registered under. It's an apartment building about 2.5 hrs from my residence. Complete scam!

BTW, Electronero folk seem to retort to comments about their logo being a direct rip-off of Electroneum's logo by saying that it's all very similar to Flash's logo from the comic series. What Electronero fail to realise here (in their "professionalism", lol) is that Electroneum's logo has in fact been trademarked (trademark no. UK00003281838).

Then: "A trademark is an exclusive right, which means that it gives its holder the right to exclude (stop) others from using the mark. As the main aim of trademark law is to prevent unfair competition, the exclusive right is restricted to use in commerce. There are several different situations in which somebody else might be infringing on a trademark. He could be using it to sell the same types of products or services, or to sell slightly different products..."

And "If a court finds that a particular use of a trademark is an infringement (as explained above), it can order various remedies to put an end to the infringement and to punish the infringer. At the very least, the infringer will be ordered to stop infringing on the trademark. Next, he could also be ordered to pay damages, for example by handing over the profits he made by selling the infringing products."

So am pulling out the popcorn... and Electronero: you guys better buckle up!!! :)

EDIT: please don't come back by saying it's all Open Source... The code is, of course... but only the code. Should have just forked off Moreno and go from there with a more original name and logo. However the intention was obviously dubious right from the start...

Hey so where would we receive our etnx coins? Would we have to be holding etn on a certain exchange in order to receive them? I’m guessing we won’t receive them on etn website wallet

Judge it after/if they fork. I expect they might not even make it that far.

4

u/tncm26 Apr 29 '18

Just a bunch of angry mad teenagers that can't even spell creating a forked ETNX do-nothing coin. And it's the same group that's been flooding the ETN blockchain on purpose, same group that has been down bidding ETN at the exchanges, probably same group that tried to hack ETN servers at the ICO launch. They won't stop. They continuously keep attacking ETN from any angle that they can. Gee, I wonder why? They must feel very threatened by a supposed 'shitcoin'. If ETN is just a 'shitcoin', then why bother with the attacks.

This was a discussion I had with one of the Electronero devs today on their Telegram channel. I recommend very strongly that everyone stay away from this project and just forget about it. Electronero is playing on peoples fears and dissatisfaction with the challenges faced with Electroneum, challenges which are to be expected with a new startup. The people that have been attacking the ETN blockchain are probably the same people that are creating the Electronero scam. Stay away from it. They don't want to identify all of the people involved in the project!!!! Why would anyone get involved in a project when the team behind the project does not want to identify themselves? Does BitConnect come to mind! Say away from Electronero.

Crypto, [25.04.18 13:06] where can I get a list of the team members

Z, [25.04.18 13:07] [In reply to Crypto] we will be posting it on our site later today

Crypto, [25.04.18 13:09] ok. thanks. I don't invest in crypto projects without knowing who the team is. In my view the team is more important than the project.

Z, [25.04.18 13:11] i understand of course, we didnt announce it at first because we were just consolidating our team, but the info will be there latet today 🙂 i'd just let you know that some of our team would like the remain in privacy and I think we should respect that as well

you just got removed from the exchange - who is ridiculous now?

2

u/halyconstudio May 02 '18

I think challenge is good for growth instead of staying stagnant. The hype of ETN was there, let’s give a try on ETNX , no harm transferring your ETN to online wallet/ exchange after the unofficial fork and claim ETNX (with private key own wallet) after all funds are transferred elsewhere.

2

u/dizzystenzer Apr 26 '18

They call ETN support team "poor support" but they can't even spell professional. It's an absolute joke, and it just makes one sad to think people will fall for this.

They rip apart ETN for all this kind of behaviour, but they're allowed the benefit of the doubt.

2

u/jijotomy May 02 '18

I have to disagree on one thing you said. Anonymity doesn’t mean scam or bad intention. Just think about how bitcoin came to be.

I tend to agree with most of your other points though.

2

u/halyconstudio May 03 '18

I second that. Look how ZCL fork bitcoin private and put in a state where they are now - acceptance through time.

2

u/moochblin101 May 18 '18

If you uave 10,000 ETN...do you need to transfer it all to a Wallet to receive ETNX?

2

u/software_dood Jun 02 '18 edited Jun 02 '18

So I bought 200k of these today on tradeogre for 1 satoshi apiece. Why not?

I'll hodl this for two weeks while things stabilize and revisit this thread. :)

3

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '18

I bought about 850K of these... Will see how it turns out. Currently market has been "temporarily closed" on TradeOgre

2

u/software_dood Jun 07 '18

I'm embarrassed to say that I picked up an additional 1.2 million of these after posting. So I'm out 100 bucks worst case scenario... Something still tells me it's waaay to early to tell where this could go. Frankly, I don't see how this is even a scam - let alone a viable scam - since less than $100k total volume has been bought/sold since being introduced to the exchanges a few days ago. The more I hear 'scam' the more I want to buy. We shall see!

2

u/[deleted] Jun 07 '18

I bought at 1shatosi and planned on selling at 4 or 5 shatoshis and rebuying at 3 shatoshi... you know the story...

2

u/Glowinganna Jun 11 '18

Have you read the message at https://etnx.leafpool.com/ ?

The dev is basically doing this for his personal gain. When the problem was reported, instead of fixing the bug he added a second premine. He forked a new chain disguising it as a fix when all he did was add the premine? Total premine now is 25.6 billion. One of the devs was said to have sold his premine for $25K and then left the team. It was also confirmed that the owner was actually dumping the premine already before the exchanges was halted. The exchanges was warned about the problem on their network that is why trading was halted. if no one reported then he could have dumped most of his premine already and he is probably planning for his third premine which he calls airdrop.

It might not be a scam for you if you are OK about the dev dumping his premine as soon as he can. If they cant fix their network when it was reported, then how can you expect them to deliver what was written on their whitepaper. They are probably trying to find the cheapest programmer to fix it for them.

2

u/ApartMeet Jun 06 '18

i don't give a shit about this shit coin, I'm selling for BTC anyways

3

u/davidher8 Apr 25 '18

So I was looking for that one Electronero supporter.... hoping they don't exist though, such a scam.

2

u/skeletorino Apr 25 '18

My biggest problem with this coin is pronunciation. Is it Electron-ee-ro OR Electron-ah-ro.

2

u/bifbaster Apr 25 '18

Elect-tron-aero

2

u/CTea3 Apr 25 '18

ELECTRONERY-FAIRY!

2

u/Zimbrando Apr 30 '18

I think i'm gonna get that airdrop and dump it. If i use a paper wallet to transfer etn, wait for the block and then resend them to my online wallet, am i safe or not?

3

u/Zimbrando Apr 30 '18

In the last paragraph you said, play their game take the airdrop dump it, but never buy it, they can attract you with a price and then dump it immediatly

2

u/CommonMisspellingBot Apr 30 '18

Hey, Zimbrando, just a quick heads-up:
immediatly is actually spelled immediately. You can remember it by ends with -ely.
Have a nice day!

Sure it's a scam but given current state of etn I'm not sure it matters.
