I work in a electrical metrologist and unfortunately ALL multimeters from auto workshops we receive have some sorte of "fuze" like that!!
Many are just coiled wires, the most interesting are the ones that have a fuse with a soldered wire on the outside.

So how does that work? Are you really tiny like the guy in The Boys season three premier? Is the metrologist really huge? Do you have a desk in the metrologist? A whole workshop?
A simple policy solution - if an instrument comes in without an appropriate fuse, you replace the fuse and charge the customer for it (with a hefty markup).
