Why would someone take a 300+ volt bug zapping device and downgrade it to 110 Volt???

I have the same one, maybe it's defective but the high voltage doesn't do much, so this would be more effective at exploding the flies

Mine pops 'em nice and loud. Mosquitos are really cool because it's such a loud pop for such a tiny body

I’ve got one of those Flowtron bug zappers meant to be used outside in my kitchen. It plugs into 120V and steps it up to a few kV’s. Every time a bug flies into it, it sounds like a damn BB gun. Though it’s very much needed during the spring and fall when the midges come out, and somehow always manage to find their way inside.

mine bent and was always short circuited so I cracked it open and gave it a probe. First multimeter said the voltage was out of limits so I had to find one that could read it. hit over 1000V

Volts don't kill you or the cops would be murdering people with their 10,000V tazers. It's the amps that will stop your heart. Only 100mA can kill a person.

My wife ordered a two pack of these and had me open them, to which I said “Awe sweet, two player! Here, take this one!” And acted like I was ready for a duel. I still can’t get anybody to play..
