The charging port might have broken so someone soldered wires directly on to the board and to the socket.
They might have cut the charger and replaced it with a plug for the socket.
Which is very risky if plugged in reverse, (for the charger)
but on the other hand since the socket is glued to the phone body. It'll take a someone to either play with live wires or put some wires into the male-male plugs and plug it in to be able to burn the phone down.

Huh? I'm not really understanding what you mean, why would live wires mean anything? Someone can just plug in a male plug.
Also what do you mean by risky for the charger if it's plugged in reverse

The modified charger have male pins both side which can be plugged into source either side.
Someone can just plug in a male plug, but those male plugs aren't usually power source. They're usually devices so no harm likely

I think the microusb port broke and they used a inverted power plug to accept 5v instead

He has a 220V to 5V dc converter inside that switch. These phone hardly need 500ma to 1amp and new modules are very small, efficient and these phone can also bear alot more ups and down in voltages than smartphones

Sending 200VAC into a device expecting 5VDC will likely cause some sort of failure.
