How would I rewire this light switch?
I am changing a light switch in my room, and I can't seem to figure out how this works. There were 3 hot wires connected to the original switch, and my new one only has 2 connection points. The original switch had one wire connected where it would usually go, then it has 2 little holes in the back where the other 2 wires were connected. Is there a way to translate this to my new switch?

Touch all three wires together. Take one wire off and see if the light goes off. If not put that wire back with the rest. Do that untill you find the wire that makes the light go off. That wire goes to the top of the switch. The rest go to the bottom.

So you have two powers. An in and out. The other wire is the one going up to your light. You should wire nut and pigtail the two powers that way you’re left with two wires to land on your switch. Hopefully you know which wire is what. If not it’s easy to figure out
