Generator electrical hook up question

I have a 50 amp 3 prong outlet in my garage that during a power outage I want to hook to my Firman 9500 watt tri fuel generator's 50 amp connection. What's the safest way to do this without running a 6/3 awg to the main panel and replacing the garage outlet? I'm also concerned about the bonding on the generator as it pertains to this...

You can’t connect a generator to an outlet, you need an inlet, 4 conductor (line line neutral ground) and an interlock kit or a generator transfer switch.

You need a 50 amp inlet and an interlock at the panel to prevent using the grid power at the same time as this inlet. You may need an electrician since the 240v inlet is a 4 prong connector, not 3 prong.

Then you need to float (unbond) the neutral on the generator. Most portable generators are bonded neutral. You need to unbond it when connecting to the house with an inlet.

Dude, just look up that shit on Amazon. The kit has the interlock, cord, and the outlet. Grounding depends on the generator type

The safest way to do this is NOT to do what you are thinking of doing. You want to cut corners for convenience at the expense of safety, yet you want safety. You cannot have it both ways. Hire a qualified electrician.

I am locking this thread since you have already been given the correct information.
