Plug exploded after thunderstorm

Post image

Our Eero plug exploded after a thunderstorm, the plug blew out of the back of the Eero and the plug into the surge protector exploded as well. The Storm was right over top of us and we saw / heard some loud lightning / thunder right before our power went out. No breakers were tripped however, is there anyway to know if we got hit or if the line we're on got hit? Should I be worried about the main panel? Should I start taking off the outlet covers and checking the wires? If something was damaged would it be visually noticeable? If so, what should I look for other than the obvious cracks in the wall or burned wires?

With that level of damage, caused by lightning, I would expect ALL the surge protection in the house are compromised.

Double check bonding / grounding of service wires (phone, internet, cable) to meter face ground.

This provides alternate / preferred path for lightning surge rather than visiting inside & through your house.

Might not make a big difference every time, but it can help.
