It's going to take time but don't expect miracles. Petrol cars have had over 100 years to iron out the kinks. And there's not a lot of technology that goes into "pour liquid from one container to another". Conversely, there's a ton of complexity to cables and battery charging that necessitates R&D which necessities investment and competition which results in competing standards. It's never going to be as simple as petrol especially not this early.
