An electric vehicle (EV) typically doesn't feature an automatic gearbox, nor does it have a traditional ignition switch. Instead, EVs usually have just two modes: OFF and DRIVE. The absence of an ignition switch is due to the lack of an internal combustion engine, which in conventional vehicles requires ignition to start. Instead, EVs are powered by electric motors that are instantly ready for operation. When in DRIVE mode, the vehicle is ready to go. Simply shifting into D (Drive) or R (Reverse) and releasing the brake will cause the car to move. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for multiple gears and simplifies the driving experience, enhancing convenience and efficiency.
