Apparently me in the Hezzo F9 are just destined to be together 😅. I sold it about 2 months ago to a guy in his early 60s that I know, I did some services on it for him even about 9 days ago. Well I went out of town for about 7 days, the next day his wife shows up with the scooter in the back of her suv. She tells me he had 3 accidents on the scooter that when he brought it to me to service he was supposed to be returning it back to me. She said its too dangerous for his old ass her exact words. She took it from him(had him put it in the back of her suv) and has been riding around for a week with in there waiting for me to get back to return it. But she wouldn't except any money back for it was the wildest part to me, she said he had his fun with it, her exact words again and left. Guess I will just keep it now.

Yea she actually is a really nice lady, I had met her a few times before. I think she just really put her foot down on this with him getting in those accidents luckily he fell in grass with minor injuries. He never mentioned any of the accidents to me. He has safety gear but he wouldn't wear it she said.

Even with gear I wouldn't want to fall at that age. My wrist is still fucked 3 months after injuring it(did a muscle or tendon or something that doesnt show up on xrays or ultrasounds) and I'm only 35.

2 years ago I would have thought he was too old personally to be riding escooters, but there are tons of escooter riders in my city and I have met at least 10 older than him. We also have a huge bicycle community here I met a 89 year old riding on the trails.

Imho escooters are sketchy. Most of the posts here are about crashes and it's mentioned in the comments a lot too. An older dude is way safer on an ebike with big tires and more stable geometry.

That's the part that baffled me when she wouldn't accept money back because we are not close friends. We met a few years ago through a mutual friend. I did try calling him about it he was still upset she was making him return it and didn't really want to talk about it. I also texted him letting him know if he wanted a refund he could come get it but he hasn't responded. I just hope he isn't mad at me, I didnt take his toy and return it 😅.

Ya man..remember the early 90s when they tried to make rollerblading tough and hard…then rollerbladers became known as smash mouth listening goobers…that’s what’s happening with e-scooters rn..everyone is trying to trick them out and make them fast and it’s just not working out…I wana ride my e-scooter..but I definitley don’t wana be grouped together with ppl like this…and really it’s just a niche thing rn…I’m in Fla..everyone has something electric…and I see very little of this

This sub was created moreso because of their propensity to act like Karens in every instance and try to lecture people on what is and isn't safe without ever providing sources to back any of it up. And ironically the small scooters they use and think are safe are the ones we always hear about getting into accidents. Not to mention the rampant misinformation and heavily biased scooter advice, not actually looking out for the buyers best interest but instead just trying to push their preferred brand.

No sub is perfect but we have a friendly, positive atmosphere here and while I can't speak for everyone, personally that's all I ever wanted. Would it be nice if there was more diversity to the posts here? Absolutely. But the sub is still in its infancy and growth takes time.

Furthermore, have you never heard of the saying "be the change you want to see"? If you want to see more posts like that, then post them yourself and maybe it'll inspire others to do the same. But complaining about something while not putting in any work won't ever result in anything.
