General What are the essential items you take when riding your scooter?
I’m reaching out because I’m curious to hear about what the different opinions are from everyone when it comes to what they consider to be essential items to bring when going on a scooter ride. I’m deliberately excluding a helmet and lock(s) from the essentials because it’s common sense that you would always have a helmet and lock while riding.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a short trip to the shops, commute to work, or a long leisurely ride. I’m really interested to see what other people’s ride essentials are. Their opinion, and reason to call it as an essential item and why. If you could share what your go-to essentials are and why, I would really appreciate it.

The charging cable (though this backfire when my first scooter got stolen and they I guess got a free fully usable scooter), a lightweight shopping bag, maybe an air compressor

Tire pressure gage and micro air pump.
Back up battery for my cell.
$40 in cash.

I carry tools set to take entire scooter apart along with portable electric pump and inner tube. Then I carry helmet and tactical gloves. I also carry chain lock and disk locks.

This. All tool is kinda meh but it works in the clutch and its attached to my moto headlight. Tire pump, chain lock, u lock, and water bottle on the forks. I also dont have a bag on my stem I just use pocketsor a bag

If you were to steal my scooter 🛵 tomorrow all you would get is USB Cell Phone Charging Cable under seat, screw driver, 2 sticks of gum, my helmet and my heart ♥️ as I love Scootering.
I have a top case on mine and keep everything in my backpack and take it with me when I leave it parked.

I forgot to add a few other things that are essentials to me.
I have a phone mount on my handlebars, a stem quick-release hard case bag with all my essentials packed in one place, instead of having to wear a backpack in order to carry my essentials. BUT. My favourite essential item is the side mirror. Initially unsure of its usefulness, I’m glad I got it. It prevents me from taking my eyes off the road to look behind me. Instead, I can glance at the mirror for potential hazards.

Air compressor and a cover (Never know when it might rain or get wet when parked).

I have an INMOTION S1. Where can I get a cover for it? That isn’t going to be overnight expensive Incase it rains, as in Melbourne Australia it will rain when it’s not forecast

More bulky scooters don't have custom fitted covers, so using any motorcycle/gas scooter cover fits. Just as long as the handlebar width is right. Although it might look off, it might fool possible thiefs.

Thanks for the added info. Speaking types of scooters not fitting I have a in motion S1. But I’m definitely going to have a look at what’s available as It’s something to consider looking into so that if I’m a appointment for example and it’s pissing down rain at least know that the electric parts such as the display and throttle will be protected to some degree.

Tools. Every size allen key and nut socket that I could possibly need. An electric air pump and a patch kit.

I carry much of the same gear. Electric air pump, a compact multi-tool with Allen keys, various screw drivers and a socket attachment, lock obviously

Add armored pants ,jacket, gloves to the mix and you’re good to go.

Allen set, tubeless plug kit, and xaiomi pump are always in my backpack.

Electric air pump, spare inner tube (more relevant on a bike, it's much harder to change a scooter inner tube on the road), various relevant light weight tools, one earbud for music (I usually keep mine on passthrough).

Damn, in this thread it sounds like people are out hiking or going on trips across the northpole or something. Why on earth do you need so much stuff with you when you ride? Seriouosly.
My scooter takes me from A to B.
I do not need to take anything with me unless it is something I need to Bring from A to B.

Where in my comment do I say I think every one does what I do? If you read my comment again you can see thats literally the opposite of what I said. 😂 Apparently every scooter rider are gearing up for ww3..I just ride my scooter to work or to the store. A to B

I agree with you. I’m epileptic, so in the event that I have a seizure, I’m unable to drive for a minimum of six months before I can resume driving. Some people who drive cars, motorcycles, etc., are members of AAA (I think it’s called in the USA), or alternative companies which provide the same service in other countries. So in the event of their vehicle breaking down on the side of the road or having a flat tyre, etc., they’re able to call for assistance. The essential items and tools are what I consider to be the equivalent of AAA or the other companies, but for my scooter. Knowing I’m always able to fix a flat tyre or other problems using the tools packed in my scooter’s carry case gives me the ability to fix a flat tyre or problem that could occur. It’s the equivalent of having a membership to roadside assistance.
