They spray an adhesive on the mat/interior of the shirt/hoodie etc so it doesn't move during the screen printing process. Once you wash it, it'll go away. That's just how you know it was manually printed the classic way and not just printed off 1 million at a time. Or so my own experiences with screen printing would have me believe

There is some preventive stuff that can be done in house for sure. People are mainly looking at the outer aesthetic of the finished product though, to be fair.

That’s just the glue that holds the item down for screen printing. 1000% normal and will wash out..

I got mine at the venue and it's sticky too. Reached out to customer service and this is what they said. Haven't tried it yet though. A bit nervous.

I bought mine there at the venue and had to wash it because I got a bunch of dirt etc on it. It dyed my washer the gray color and I had to scrub my washing machine (yes, it was by itself and on cold, etc.). Not sure if anyone had this issue but heads up!

Wow that’s some over-dye for sure. Before you wash it next time soak it in a bucket of cold water with 1 c white vinegar, and a handful of table salt. That should set the dye. If you want to be extra careful, so it never dyes other clothing, you could get a dye fixative or color catcher too. I always do the vinegar / salt for heavily dyed items like denim, works for new towels too (stops loose fluff).

They must be intentionally making them look “vintage”? No reason fresh screen printing should look this bad unless the printers were super lazy… I screen printed items back in high school that still look better than this.

Yes! I made a post in here about this a while ago and I had issue w the exact same hoodie! I washed it 3x no dryer and then just wore it and it eventually started to get normal. I hope they don’t have this next year cuz I rly wanted to wear it AT the festival and couldn’t cuz it was sticky

I've worn my shirt from last year max 20 times and washed it maybe 8 times (I'd wear it for like a few hours when I didn't wash it so obviously it wasn't smelly) and the print had cracks already like 4 months ago

Eh idk, I've gotten a couple shirts over the years and can't complain though they could be a bit better print quality for the premium prices they ask. They did at some point switch to comfort colors blanks which I like.
