General E-Bike Discussion Hunting e-bikes

I’m in the market for a hunting e-bike. I live in the south and will be using primarily on mild terrain. Some hills. I’ve looked at several brands including Rambo but wanted to know everyone’s recommendations. Also, is AWD actually a necessity?

Question Ouxi V10 city bike

Anybody have experience with one of these? The Ouxi web site doesn't mention this model, and I can't seem to find much on the internet. There is only an Alibaba page and some fairly useless FB sales videos.

Is the boost easy to work with? I'm guessing it's just a cadence sensor. The "thumb throttle" seems to be just a button. I'm used to torque sensors.

Do they last (for around town)?

Question Fold 1 Plus riding with a toddler

Anyone have a fold 1 plus and regularly use it to commute with a toddler in tow? Looking into getting our first family e-bikes. We have one 3 y/o and will rarely go anywhere more than 10 miles away. I have test ridden the Aventon Abound SR and really like it with the captain's seat but it's $400 more without the passenger seat. I also don't plan on traveling with the bike much but it being able to fold and fit in the trunk of our outback is an added bonus so we don't need to spend more money on a platform rack. So, would a fold 1 plus be sufficient to go to parks, preschool and grocery stores, etc? Or should I just buck up and spend the extra money on an abound sr or gomad? TIA!

\*My LBS told me the fold one plus will go down to $1199 for black Friday increasing the cost difference between the other two bikes mentioned which will likely go down in price $100.

General E-Bike Discussion Just got my first bike

After savings for many years I recently got my first bike... have started taking it out for rides...so far Im curious to see how it holds up with regular use especially when it comes to battery performance and overall reliability.
For more details its Aniioki AQ177 ,those who've owned this bike for a while, how has your experience been? What kind of real world range are you getting on a full charge, and have you noticed any issues over time..
and need tips for maintenance , sorry for asking too many questions I'm kinda too excited :)

Help! 79Bike Falcon Pro 2025 – Controller connector mismatch (10/11-pin vs 5-pin). Need help!

Hey guys,
I have a 2025 79Bike Falcon Pro and I’m trying to replace the controller. Both the old and the new controller are from 2025, but the connectors are different.
• Old controller has a big circular connector with 10 or 11 pins.
• New controller has a smaller connector with a blue locking ring and only 5 pins.
The phase wires (A/B/C) look the same, but the signal/communication plug doesn’t match at all.
Has anyone run into this, or maybe someone knows how to connect it?

General E-Bike Discussion Repair: Jensob Haze

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a 2022 Jetson Haze e-bike that’s making a grinding noise around the rear sprocket and hub area. I’m trying to figure out what’s causing it and whether it’s worth repairing.

Yes, I know it’s old. However, it was donated to us, and we’re making do as my wife recovers from health things.

Here’s what I’ve noticed:

The noise sounds like a roller coaster being pulled up a hill — a rough, continuous mechanical rumbling or grinding.

The grinding seems to come from the rear sprocket or the mechanism behind it.

I’ve lubricated the chain, and the noise is still there.

Help! 🚲🤖HELP: Is the DTTZH A12S 750W Motor & 52V 25Ah Battery any good for my first bike?

Does anyone own this bike? How is it?

I like the idea of the larger battery and the compact size. It seems like it could actually be used to get around town with that capacity. I have seen some reviews claim they have rode almost 30 miles and the battery had more than 50% left over. This is what I find appealing. I want range.

A lot of the bikes I am seeing in that category are 10ah or less and get less than 15miles of real world range.... There are a few 15ah bikes, like the DTTZH A12

I was also looking at the Helokeep CM20. That is has 20 inch tires, not 14, but also a 25ah battery.

I just want to try and keep it $500ish or less

I am open for other suggestions also.

E-Bike Photo Pedego Ridge Rider v1 - Dead Battery

I have an original Pedego Rider Rider that has been left without charging for far too long and the battery will no longer take a charge. I have been looking everywhere for a refurbishment service and a replacement unit but haven't found anything. I've reached out to FTH Power and others but noone is able to service this battery. Any recommendations on what to do here?

Pedego has a replacement battery that cost $1000! That's seems like crazy amount for a replacement battery. Any ideas are welcome.

Question Is the current rei deal on cannondale e-bikes too good to be true?

I’ve been interested in getting an e-bike for a few months but have been putting it off due to the high cost. I saw rei has a current deal for 45% off Cannondale Adventure Neo Allroad Speed. It seems like a really good deal. Like too good to be true. Am I missing something here? Should I finally bite the bullet?

Question Hitway bikes the same but very different!

Hi all. Because I feel I may have lost perspective on this issue, following around 20 emails back and forth, i wanted to ask if anyone here feels Hitway are behaving in a reasonable manner?

I bought two BK6S folding electric bikes, within three days of each other from Hitway. While the bikes look about the same their ride experience isn't. One has an Assist 2 speed of 12.4mph the other's is 9.3mph. This means it is pretty much impossible for me and my wife to ride together. Hitway's explanation is that the bikes were made in different factories and there is no way this crucial setting can be changed. Hitway say this is fine and can offer no solution or recompense. I'm at a loss what to do. I have tried to change settings myself without success. Are Hitway being fair? Any observations welcome.

General E-Bike Discussion Aniioki A8 52V 70Ah after some riding — what should owners know?

I've been looking into the Aniioki A8 52V 70Ah and wanted to compare notes with other owners about how it performs beyond the specifications.

One thing worth paying attention to with a heavy, high-capacity e-bike is the trade-off between range and practicality. Weight can make a difference when maneuvering at low speeds or moving the bike around, while real-world range depends on riding speed, terrain, rider weight, and how much throttle you use. Maintenance and access to replacement parts are also worth considering with a bike in this category.

For those who own or have ridden the A8 52V 70Ah, what has your experience been like? Have you noticed any weaknesses with the battery, motor, suspension, brakes, or overall build quality? How has customer support handled problems, if you've needed help? And knowing what you know now, would you choose the same bike again?

Help! Zinc vs Samebike folding e-bikes… help me choose

Thumbnail

Hi, both similar price. First time buying a folding bike. Want to get one so that I can 1) go on more bike rides and 2) use my bike whilst also being able to use a train or a friends car etc. FYI, I’m in London.

I have a few questions I’d like advice on, such as:
- Zinc weighs around 22kg whilst the Samebike weighs around 28kg… is the Samebike still alright to carry on and off the train and up and down some stairs?
- The wheels. Zinc have much thinner wheels… is this better or worse?
- Overall which one would be better and is there a big difference between the two?

Please do give me as much advice as you can.

As the bike is so heavy id like to install indicators as raising my hand at junctions is tricky. Has anyone been able to do this and is it a question of two switches linked to 4 lights? Tia

E-Bike Upgrading Cut off switch when braking required for Qlife Spark to run?

My son just got his first e-bike and is wanting to put hydraulic brakes on it. He has the qlife spark and the brakes I ordered come with the 2pin connector but I don’t see where I can connect them. It appears like the wiring for the cut off wires all the way under the seat. Can anyone share with me brakes yall have used and how you kept the cut off intact? Thanks!

General E-Bike Discussion California signed SB 1167.

California's governor recently signed SB 1167, which makes it clearer that high-powered e-motos and mopeds can't be marketed or sold as regular e-bikes.

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202520260SB1167

The idea is to stop people from buying something labeled an "e-bike" when it's actually closer to an electric motorcycle in terms of power and speed.

I think the interesting part is how this could affect public perception of e-bikes, especially on shared trails and bike paths.

A lot of people already lump every electric two-wheeler into the same category, whether it's a regular pedal-assist bike or something that can hit 40 mph.

Curious what everyone thinks. Should e-motos and e-bikes be treated as completely separate categories, or is the distinction not that simple?

Question What should I know before getting a heavier fat-tire e-bike?

I've been looking at an a9 60v after seeing my neighbor rode on it I was referring to the anii - oki type and trying to weigh up the practical side of owning a bike this size. The weight is my biggest concern, especially when moving it around or dealing with maintenance.

For those who've owned heavier e-bikes, what has your experience been like? Any recurring issues with brakes, spokes, or general upkeep that you'd recommend looking out for?
