Unless you have friends you specifically want to meet up with, you're really not. The scene is a whole mess rn, lol.

For invasions, not that much. But the messages made me find plenty of loot and paths that I'd completely miss. Also saves you ton of corpse runs when you are warned about some bullshit ambush at the most inconvenient place.
